PostSubject: Signs of Magic Mon Dec 08, 2014 12:11 pm

There are different kinds of magic and what they are about is manipulating reality with various techniques.
There is nothing supernatural about magic because there is nothing supernatural that exists by how I think about what is natural and what is existence in itself.

To quote David Hawkes from his book 'The Culture of Usury in Renaissance England' -
"The deliberate and systematic attempt to exploit the subjective agency of signs is traditionally known as “magic.” A magician deploys signs—images, icons, incantations—in an effort to intervene in and alter the condition of the objective world. Magic is the attempt to do things with signs."

To understand this is to understand many things about what is occurring in this world. In short, reality is very magical, today more so than ever before.

Some thoughts on what this magic of signs and symbols is -
Hawkes quote talks about the subjective agency of signs. Sticks and stones break my bones but words will never hurt me... yet words, especially when repeated often enough, hold great power over us, they can and do dominate parts of our thinking. Eventually, those communally shared thoughts and images via language develop a life of their own.
They develop a subjective quality in themselves. Now, the written marks on a piece of paper in themselves have no subjective quality but the mind has a tendency to create shortcuts and the word, which is referring to a thought, which is referring to a perception, which is the perception of an object in reality gets connected to the object itself.
This is depending on the kind of quality of a mind. Some minds have become so adept at this shortcutting that they start to mistake the word not for the thought, not for the perception, but directly for the object, for the real itself.
But even at a lower level words become thoughts. In other words, the communal spirit which are the thoughts shared via language become the thoughts of the individual. This individual is in danger of losing its agency as a subject and becomes the object for a will greater than itself.

Magic = words...symbols, codes, metaphors, rituals.
Magic is faith - suspension of reason.
Magic is belief that order, reason, purpose, directs all events and that order underlies all.

God is magical = absolute order explaining the good, but mostly, the bad things that occur to us.
Magic is psychology = anxiety, fear, seeking relief...seeking something out of the perceived.

Magic, is manipulation of this weakness.
It can have psychosomatic, real, effects, like a placebo has, but its effect is brain, connected to body projecting outwards an otherness.

Prayer is a type of magical incantation.
Religious hymns, also.
The sequence of words just as important as the words themselves - the rhythm adding a layer of order to the order, the abstraction, already indicated by the word.

Orgonite, more magic - usually amongst secular humanists and the "science" types.
Externalized antioxidants.
Man must see the object/objective if he is to believe.

And the most powerful form of magic known to the modern...Money.
Alchemical transformation of one element into another through the medium, the mystical symbol, the code.
It, too, measured using numbers, because the transformative code is 1/0.
One, and multiplications of it, is the God.
Nil is what balances God with the Satanic principle.

Both participate in the Nihilistic paradigm.
Each the opposite of the other, and both nullifying the real.
The power of money is in how it can make others indoctrinated, assimilated, into its "logic", do things - act.
Money does not only transform resources into code, to be transformed into another kind of resource, but it can be transformed into pride, honor, love, or any human, all too human, intangibles.
It's trasformative power is endless within the meme, and those completely integrated within it.

Everything is compensated for, with money.
Money representing effort in time.
It's what produces the resource naturally, reduced to the immediacy of the talisman, the coin, bank note.
Banks are a kind of energy refinery.
They store symbolic energies.

Money, because it is symbols, abstraction, can now bridge time/space.
It can represents more than just resources in the present.
Decades, centuries of effort, energy, can be reduced to its magical symbolism.

It, too, is a detaching from reality.

A quick point here is to remember, Hawkes himself lays out everything from a (xt.)Traditionalist perspective and therefore takes a neo-Marxist approach to explain the extent of the post-modern precession. It is in this context, magic is the efficacy of signs liberated from representation.

In paganism, magic is the efficacy of Symbols linking a web of representations ,, metaphoric power enables one to experience and See the world more livelier than the minds of the average. Possessing magic is an initiation into a symbolic realm of seeing long-distiance connections chartering the widest space and longest event horizon.

So...
Slick Willy Clinton apparently claimed that 'angry white men' were the reason for why his less charismatic half partner lost the election.

Angry White Men....
And this made me think that this is actually a good example of how to influence with words in the most effective way possible, at least known to me, which is through implying, through what is not said directly.

You don't say being angry and being white or being a man is bad. That would be obvious and would engage the mind, making it think and question - 'Well, is it? Is it bad/evil to be angry or white or male?"
Instead you circumvent this question by not making such a statement but by implying that it's something morally negative.

Sure, this makes it also easily defendable because I only implied that it's something negative but more than that it assumes and asserts the frame, the framework of the thinking process.

Suddenly we are more easily seduced to think in terms of - Well, are they angry and white and males? Instead of thinking - Well, what's wrong with them being angry and white...

Another example is MSM always being "outraged" at anything to do with the advancement of a white identity, but "saddened" when something reflects poorly on a non-white identity.

Outrage assumes movement and action, possibility for change. Sadness assumes helplessness.

In every human interaction, even online, a part of properly understanding someone is to empathize with their position. When antipathy is forbidden, one only needs to act a certain way and the only acceptable response by the other person is sympathy or repression - specifically against those who think ahead and universalize behaviors (which those in power no longer concern themselves with, though they convinced white people to crucify themselves, when they could have been Machiavellian instead). This serves a dual purpose: it pisses off your political enemy and it gathers sympathetic supporters to rally against (in anger) the ones who were assaulted by the framing.

In a Christian world where even agnostics take Pascal's wager, all actions have to be framed as being good for more than oneself and clean of sin. Outrage is the most valuable political and sexual behavior. The side effect of robbing this from your enemies is that they can no longer fight. Demoralization.

When the masses are all fed this information, it can actually effect real change - or prevent it. In a "post-truth" era, memes to manipulate the masses' perception of which path is of least resistance, is the game. The whole Russian thing was to manipulate that: it is the path of least resistance to believe Russia manipulated the election than otherwise. That path was provided by the "establishment". It is an easy one to take up for males and women who believe they won't deal with the consequences of war.

I think how this implying is achieved on a large social scale is through talking in "echo-chambers" first.
It's not very effective to go around and talk about how feminists are bad or whatever. The reason why the feminists suck meme began to spread like a wildfire was because it became a basic truism among smaller communities which were most affected by them and then their social interaction with society at large went about in a way like - "Feminists? *rolls eyes* Do I even have to say any more? Everybody knows they are harpies, no?"

That's much more effective than having a discussion about whether or not feminists suck with a normie.
