Psychology 101 - Page 8 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Psychology 101 Psychology 101 - Page 8 EmptyMon Feb 12, 2018 6:53 pm

Only with life is the past carried forward into the present, projecting this as a cosmic fact, it mistakenly attributes to other.
For life the past is never lost, though it is often forgotten and/or denied.
Memory informs the present and directs it. This is called the subconscious.

In lifeless interactions there is no memory carried froward directing subsequent interactions...only consequences cascading from interactions.
A conscious mind perceives these interactions as events in space/time, translating them into particles, moments, abstractions, measuring them using time or any of the four dimensions.

Consciousness is essential because chaos adds the factor of unpredictability to every present.
This is why memory is so crucial. It informs the conscious mind but does determine its judgment.
Judgment sis a product of juxtaposition of multiple memories with the present event.

Psychology is the study of this past made present, and how the ego grasps it and accepts it or rejects it; controls it or is overpowered by it.
To Know Thyself is to know so as to begin to understand, and then hopefully gain control over this past.
The past is like a river flowing along the paths-of-least-resistance, and life is a current within it that is like a whirlpool (self), with the ego at the centre.
Whirlpool = self
Eye of the whirlpool = ego
To know thyself is to know every stream (process, event) within this whirlpool...but to know is not to control.
To understand is to gain the potential for control.

So, the river is order - Lethe, and the whirlpool is a iterating part of the river.....and its iterating develops into storage of memory that then evolves into a will - informing the whirlpool as to how to act, react.
Memory, now, directs the whirlpool in relation to the flow of the river that has no memory but forever flows from top to bottom....from near-absolute order towards near-absolute chaos.
Not everything about the river is ordered, but chaos is part of its flow. This makes it unpredictable in its predictability.
Man discovers certain patterns that govern the river's flow....calls them Laws of Nature...but when he looks deeper not all is as ordered and intuitive.
Chaos is part of the apparent turmoil.
This is the mysterious, the mystical. No need to add to it more confusion, but to subtract from it by ordering - clarifying.

Psychology is the study of how memory relates/reacts to forgetfulness.

Life relating to death.
Order relative to chaos.

There is no life without memory.
Consciousness is the juxtaposition of past, stored as code (memory) with the ongoing present (interpreted as appearance).
Judgment is the choice based on this juxtaposition.

Stored past is called experience, or knowledge, when it is adopted from a third-party.
Understanding is the perception of patterns in the memories, in the data.
Meaning is how these memories, all this data, is interlaced in the mind, and how this noetic matrix relates to natural order - if it is in harmony it is closer to the truth, if not it is in error.

A less sophisticated mind cannot create an all-encompassing matrix....so it creates many smaller ones - compartmentalization.
Sometimes these contradict each other.
Orwell spoke of this.
Modernity promotes compartmentalization....also called schizophrenia when the matrices are at odds with each other and coexist in the same mind.
This is the typical modern way of thinking.... Nihilism uses it to manipulate and exploit such minds.

For a woman the animus is the threatening, mysterious masculine.
MANifesto: Psychology – Psychology INDEX – Jung
If this is lost, through intimacy for example, she gradually loses erotic interest in the male. The animus becomes something known, she recognizes in herself. A kindred spirit, a brother, friend.
Erotic tension is replaced with comfort, a relaxing of tensions.
The pressure of libidinal energies seeks a tension to release themselves outwardly, something to pull them out and be expunged.
With males this can take the form of image, a representation of past made present, and translated into appearance, exposing potential (probability).
With females this and the component of mind, is essential, because masculinity is Apollonian order (reasoning, ordering). She needs mind/body tension because she is mind/body sex organ – fully sexual personification. Not localized on the sex organ or the erotic zones, as it is in males, but her entire mind/body is an erotic map awaiting discovery and conquest – she is Dionysian seeking an Apollonian counterpart. Weininger represented this in a mathematical formula where attraction occurs when an inversions of the masculine/feminine traits come in contact – interact.
Path-of-least-resistance implies harmony – more harmony means less resistance.
But with eros, because it is an evolution of a method of overcoming fight/flight mechanisms, tension is an essential component – sexual feeling rises when the urge to flight or fight is greatest in females. Anxiety raises the repressed energies she will release in orgasm, increasing the chances of being inseminated.
In males it becomes the hunter's tension, reacting to fight/flight of its prey.
The females needs to feel a bit intimidated by the male for her to remain sexually interested. He has to confront her with a mystery, an unknown component that threatens directly, or insinuates a threat.
A threat, like I said about respect is not necessarily about denying the other his/her life, or well-being, it can be about a potential withholding – the threat of denying them what they need. MANifesto: Emotions – Hate<>Fear<>Love – Respect
Respect entails intimidation.
When a female loses respect for a male, she loses interest in him as a sexual partner. He is the 'nice guy' the friend, the loyal, reliable ally.

This is so across the board.
Facts are replaced by feelings.
Philosophy becomes psychology. Using words not to relate to world but to manipulate the mind with sensations, imagery, feelings, stimulating the ego, exploiting the absence of self-awareness, of awareness of self, that makes Moderns vulnerable to any alternative.
Minds detached from reality and then thrown an ideology, lacking all substance...but triggering emotions.
Minds so desperate for validation that they fall for the lie that they can give themselves what they most need and desire....because seeking it in relation to the world is too difficult and uncertain.

Nihilism is a revolt against the father - parental authority.
It's corruption of language reflects this desire to break free from conventions and the world - natural order.
This may be a product of an absent, missing father, in the form of a biological father or the absent absolute, or it may be a disrespect, a demystification, the judgment of finding the biological, real, father wanting....and a seeking for the ideal, the absolute, supreme icon of masculinity.

Not accidental that many who rebel, like Nietzsche, come form devour Christian family units.
For many the father was a representative of the divine father-figure - a shadow of it.
We see the same patterns in Jung, Heidegger and Peterson....
A element of rejection, of dissatisfaction, disillusionment with the real father-figure. For some it becomes creative....a finding of one's self, an imposition of self as a better father-figure to usurp the one that is disappointing....with others it becomes a desperation to find it ready-made in another.

A cult revolves around a central figure....like Scientology has Hubbard.
A charismatic figure only has effect when he is in the proximity - his effect dissipates over large distances when the dogma is intervened upon by the real world.

Nihilism is a linguistic parasite so language and dialogue is part of its reaffirmation.
With no external references the parasite seeks validation in others, or in iconic figures that become idols of worship.
We see this most clearly with the iconic figure of Nietzsche. Popular in a post-modern world because of the decline of paternal power, and the diminished status of the real life father-figure.
Boys seek alternatives elsewhere, in modern pop art, in philosophy, in movies, in fantasy.

They rebel against the father's that failed them using the usual adolescent methods - challenging conventions, denying authorities, using jargon, different fashions, aggressive music, fantastic mythologies to express their need for a parental figure, a certainty, a guide.
Post-modernity preaches to the choir. It produces the types of minds it then exploits with its linguistic games, and its flattering power promising rhetoric.

Post-Modernity is like a magic trick.
Once you realize how the trick works, the magic disappears and all that's left is the trick.

To know how post-modernity is reproduced, from mind to mind, like a cult, using language, triggering passions, impressing with idols and pop-cultural idols, is to become immune to it.
Immunity is not always welcomed because the promises of post-modernity are comforting, empowering, just as much as they are lies.
The mind can become addicted to a good lie.
Drug use is an addiction to being out-of-your-mind......because being lucid is deplorable, boring, not enough, or too much.
When drunk you feel invincible, you can drive like a race car driver, you have no inhibitions, no insecurities....you are free...you feel powerful.
Someone can become addicted to that state because his normal state is depressing.
Some people don't want to know how the magic trick works....they want to remain naive children, surprised and mesmerized by the trickster.

Post-Modernists are the lost children of Abrahamism, once more cast out of Marxist Utopia to wander the deserts of the real.

I call post-modernism, or the Jewish Frankfurt School invention, simply Modernism.
I know modernism refers to the post enlightenment era, but I use modernism to represent the 'last man' phase of western civilization, the parasitical final phase.
Every generation is the modern generation when there is no objective world.
Modernity is reborn, every minute, every week, every year. It is always updating, on the forefront of fashion trendiness, popular and willing to adopt any concept if it does not challenge its linguistic perspectivism and rejection of an objective reality.
It is a perpetual state of remaining free from past - forever Modern.

Female psychology is more focused on the long-term. she judges according to probabilities within group dynamics.
Males are more pragmatic, and psychologically simpler, they use precedent to evaluate. They tend to judge the effect.
They ignore other males unless he has proven to have something they covet.
So, a rich guy is admired and worshipped, wanting to learn from him how to become rich.
A guy with hot girls will be followed wanting to learn how to attract females.
The theory both these men give them will not be questioned because the outcome proves that they know of what they speak.

But this is not always the case.
Factors of success, or the effect can have causes the actor himself is unaware of.
A rich guy may not be entirely aware about how he got rich, and the guy whoa attracts hot banes may not be entirely aware how he does it, or what it is that he has or does.
His arrogance, his inflated ego, will tend towards hyperbole, and self-flattery.
Other males will tolerate it, or submit to it...until he fails to deliver the 'goods'.

Psychology 101 - Page 8 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Psychology 101 Psychology 101 - Page 8 EmptyWed Feb 14, 2018 8:48 am

Jung, Carl wrote:
However, Nostradamus thinks that "a united Southern king" will outlast the Northern one by three years. He sees a return of paganism ("the sanctuary destroyed by paganism"), the Bible will be burned, and an immense blood-bath will take place: "So great tribulations as ever did happen since the first foundation of the Christian Church." All Latin countries will be affected by it.
» There are historical determinants that may have moved Nostradamus to give the year 1792 as the beginning of the new aeon. For instance, Cardinal Pierre d'Ailly, basing himself on Albumasar, writes in his Concordantia 5 on the eighth coniunctio maxima (U 6 ^ in t), which had been calculated for 1693: And after that shall be the fulfilment of ten revolutions of Saturn in the year 1789, and this will happen after the said conjunction, in the course of ninety-seven years or thereabouts. . . . This being so, we say that if the world shall endure until then, which God alone knows, then there will be many and great and marvellous changes and transformations of the world, especially as concerns law-giving and religious sects, for the said conjunction and the revolutions of Saturn will coincide with the revolution or reversal of the upper orb, i.e., the eighth sphere, and from these and other premises the change of sects will be known. . . . Whence it may be concluded with some probability that this is the time when the Antichrist shall come with his law and his damnable sects, which are utterly contrary and inimical to the law of Christ; for, being human, we can have no certainty with regard to the time and the moment of his coming. , . . Yet, despite the indeterminate statement that he will come at approximately that time, it is possible to have a probable conjecture and a credible hypothesis in accordance with the astronomical indications. If, therefore, the astronomers say that a change of sects will occur about that time, then, according to them, a Mighty One will come after Mahomet, who will set up an evil and magical law. Thus we may surmise with credible probability that after the sect of Mahomet none other will come save the law of the Antichrist.
In connection with the calculation of the year 1693, Pierre d'Ailly quotes Albumasar as saying that the first coniunctio maxima of Saturn and Jupiter took place anno mundi 3200. To this Albumasar added 960 years, which brings us to a.d. 1693 as the year of the eighth coniunctio maxima.1 In Part III of his book, chapter, Pierre d'Ailly criticizes this view and calls it a "false deduction." In his treatise against "superstitiosos astronomos," 1410, he maintains that the Christian religion should not be brought under astrological laws. He was alluding in particular to Roger Bacon, who had revived the theory that Christianity was under the influence of the planet Mercury. Pierre d'Ailly held that only superstitions and heretical opinions were astrologically influenced, and especially the coming of the Antichrist.
»55 We are probably right in assuming that these calculations were known to Nostradamus, who proposed 1792 as an improvement on 1789. Both dates are suggestive, and a knowledge of subsequent events confirms that the things that happened around that time were significant forerunners of developments in our own day. The enthronement of the "Deesse Raison" was, in fact, an anticipation of the antichristian trend that was pursued from then onwards.
The "renovation of the age" might mean a new aeon, and it coincides in a remarkable way with the new system of dating, the revolutionary calendar, which began with September 22, 1792, and had a distinctly antichristian character.9 What had been brewing up long beforehand then became a manifest event; in the French Revolution men witnessed the enantiodromia that had set in with the Renaissance and ran parallel with the astrological fish symbol. The time seemed a significant one astrologically, for a variety of reasons. In the first place this was the moment when the precession of the equinoxes reached the tail of the second fish. Then, in the year 1791, Saturn was in T, a fiery sign. Besides that, tradition made use of the theory of maximal conjunctions u and regarded the year of the eighth coniunctio maxima— 1693—as a starting-point for future calculations. This critical year was combined with another tradition basing itself on periods of ten revolutions of Saturn, each period taking three hundred years. Pierre d'Ailly cites Albumasar, who says in his Magnae coniunctiones: "They said that the change shall come when ten revolutions of Saturn have been completed, and that the permutation of Saturn is particularly appropriate to the movable signs" (r, So, =^=, V3). 13 According to Pierre d'Ailly, a Saturn period came to an end in 1 1 B.C., and he connects this with the appearance of Christ. Another period ended in a.d. 289; this he connects with Manichaeism.
The year 589 foretells Islam, and 1189 the significant reign of Pope Innocent III; 1489 announces a schism of the Church, and 1789 signalizes—by inference—the coming of the Antichrist.
Fantasy could do the rest, for the archetype had long been ready and was only waiting for the time to be fulfilled. That a usurper from the North would seize power is easily understood when we consider that the Antichrist is something infernal, the devil or the devil's son, and is therefore Typhon or Set, who has his fiery abode in the North. Typhon's power is triadic, possessing two confederates, one in the East and one in the South. This power corresponds to the "lower triad."
'Nostradamus, the learned physician and astrologer, would certainly have been familiar with the idea of the North as the region of the devil, unbelievers, and all things evil. The idea,as St. Eucherius of Lyons (d. 450) remarks, goes back to Jeremiah "From the north shall an evil wind break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land,"  and other passages such as Isaiah 14 : 12L: How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou rut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far north.
The Benedictine monk Rhabanus Maurus (d. 856) says that "the north wind is the harshness of persecution" and "a figure of the old enemy."  The north wind, he adds, signifies the devil, as is evident from Job 26 : 7: "He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing."
Rhabanus interprets this as meaning that "God allows the devil to rule the minds of those who are empty of his grace." 21 St. Augustine says: "Who is that north wind, save him who said: I will set up my seat in the north, I will be like the most High?
The devil held rule over the wicked, and possessed the nations," etc.
The Victorine monk Garnerius says that the "malign spirit" was called Aquilo, the north wind. Its coldness meant the "frigidity of sinners."  Adam Scotus imagined there was a frightful dragon's head in the north from which all evil comes.
From its mouth and snout it emitted smoke of a triple nature, the "threefold ignorance, namely of good and evil, of true and false, of fitting and unfitting."  "That is the smoke," says Adam Scotus, "which the prophet Ezekiel, in his vision of God, saw coming from the north," the "smoke" of which Isaiah speaks.
The pious author never stops to think how remarkable it is that the prophet's vision of God should be blown along on the wings of the north wind, wrapped in this devilish smoke of threefold ignorance. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Hence the "great cloud" had "brightness round about it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming bronze."  The north wind comes from the region of fire and, despite its coldness, is a "ventus urens" (burning wind), as Gregory the Great calls it, referring to Job 27 : 2i.29 This wind is the malign spirit, "who rouses up the flames of lust in the heart" and kindles every living thing to sin. "Through the breath of evil incitement to earthly pleasures he makes the hearts of the wicked to burn." As Jeremiah 1:13 says, "I see a boiling pot, facing away from the north." In these quotations from Gregory we hear a faint echo of the ancient idea of the fire in the north, which is still very much alive in Ezekiel, whose cloud of fire appears from the north, whence "an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land."
In these circumstances it is hardly surprising that Nostradamus warns against the usurper from the north when foretelling the coming of the Antichrist. Even before the Reformation the Antichrist was a popular figure in folklore, as the numerous editions of the "Entkrist"  in the second half of the fifteenth century show. This is quite understandable in view of the spiritual events then impending: the Reformation was about to begin. Luther was promptly greeted as the Antichrist, and it is possible that Nostradamus calls the Antichrist who was to appear after 1792 the "second Antichrist" because the first had already appeared in the guise of the German reformer, or much earlier with Nero or Mohammed. We should not omit to mention in this connection how much capital the Nazis made out of the idea that Hitler was continuing and completing the work of reformation which Luther had left only half finished.
From the existing astrological data, therefore, and from the possibilities of interpreting them it was not difficult for Nostradamus to predict the imminent enantiodromia of the Christian aeon; indeed, by making this prediction, he placed himself firmly in the antichristian phase and served as its mouthpiece.
After this excursion, let us turn back to our fish symbolism.

--Aion

We who worship Apollo, we Hyperboreans, know of the 'north' as a high place, from where the cold, cleansing winds sweep away the decadence of the southern regions. The anti-christ will be anti-Abrahamic, and it will descend from the north.
The top head dominates the bottom one.

Psychology 101 - Page 8 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Psychology 101 Psychology 101 - Page 8 EmptyWed Feb 14, 2018 9:42 am

Appearance cannot deceive.....it can be manipulated, covered, but it cannot deceive.
We call it deceptive when we've erroneously translated it.
This is typical. Instead of accepting responsibility, and admitting a mistake in judgment, we accuse other of a motive.
this does not mean that appearance cannot be manipulated to hidden, but only that its manipulation and concealment should be part of its appearance.

Body cannot help but be honest. To the point where it may contradict the mind's ideals, or judgments of it.
The body's reactions are intuitive, automatic, whereas the mind conceals, manipulates, fabricates.

The meme/gene can therefore result in an antithesis of meme to gene, expressed as a contradiction of body to the mind, the body's presence, its reality, as the past made present, conflicting with the mind's ideals, its theories, principles its interpretation of world.
Nihilism is such a contradiction - it is schizophrenic.
The schism occurs along the neurological networks matrices......body/mind.
It can be compartmentalized. Parts of the brain, the more primal parts, the automatic reactive parts, coming in conflict with the frontal cortex, with the ego, with consciousness and its translation, ideologies, and convictions based on its hopes and needs.
Emotions can be a more honest and deeper appreciation of reality, but they can also be a source of corruption, just as art can be an expression of a relationship of mind with world, or it can be a warped expression of a reaction to world, an attempt to conceal self form it.

The body's automated processes are honest because there is no intervening consciousness to judge them.
But the mind can corrupt the body's reactions, or it may intentionally redefine and justify them to accord with its ideology, its preferred ideals.
I've always said....do not listen to what others say, even about themselves....watch how they behave, observe their actions. It is possible to know another better than he knows himself/herself.
They may be totally unaware of their won behaviours and how they contradict their spoken principles.
They may be so engrossed in their own self-deceit that they are convinced they are being authentic, when they are saying one thing and doing something else; when they are lying.

The act precedes consciousness of it. The degenerate understands this as a will, other than its own, working through it, suing it as a conduit....that it is channelling a divine essence. This is comforting, because ti absolves it, the ego, of its responsibility.
it feels as if it is possessed by another spirit.
This is schizophrenia....the cultivation of a division between mind and body.
Identity is placed in the mind, where it can be chosen....despite the body's presence.
The body becomes something alien, something other than the mind.
Nihilism lives and propagates in the mind, as symbols/language.
It thinks of the body, the physical, as an inconvenience, an illusion, a trick, or a burden, a shell, a prison.

Listen to this conversation all the way to the end.
He says ' there are no things, only processes'....and patterns.
Exactly!!!!
There are only patterns and, chaos, is their absence....dynamic process that lacks a pattern, has no rhythm, no repeating consistency.
But, in the organism chaos refers to the right-side and vagueness, complexity, hidden order. This is the mystical.
Occult, hidden, order.
God, the concept, is not a Being, it is a Becoming. So it cannot be omnipotent, omniscient, perfect, complete, one....it is process. It is only conceptualized as such, because that's how the mind can conceptualize.

Left hemisphere is ordering, reasoning, the Apollonian.....the right is sensing, emoting, feelings, intuition, chaos, Dionysian.

Psychological types gall into this balance....some more left leaning, and others more right leaning....the Hellenic balance would be in the ambiguous, shifting middle.
Right thinking is Top<>Down....Abrahamic.
It exploits the left side's submission and recruits it to validate its sensations, its vagueness, its imagery, emotions intuitions; it implores it to invent a lingo to accommodate it....it is religious.
Left thinking is Bottom<>Up....Realistic, Aryan.
It exploits the right's submission and recruits it to give passion to its stringent, cold reasoning....it uses metaphors to imply an order on the periphery, on the edges.....because order is always incomplete, unfinished.
Ordering, similar to becoming.

Chaos for the right hemisphere is not random, it is complexity, the occult, the hidden.
An organism cannot conceptualize randomness; cannot integrate it into its emerging unity.
In this case order/chaos designate degree of lucid and non-lucid order.
God is associated with the right side.
Atheists are left brained....for the most part.
So are Aryans....their deities are observable, experienced, they refer to natural forces, or natural processes.
In Aryanism the right is dominated by the left, whereas for Abrahamism, and Nihilists, in general, the left is dominated by the right.
Hellenism is a balance leaning to the left - chaos under control. Dionysus under Apollo.

McGilchrist surprised me....he's someone I've never hear of before.
I stood up and listened more intently around 16:12...He, like I, 'embraces uncertainty'.
I've always talked about degrees or probabilities and not absolutes.
Everything McGilchrist said I agreed with. I must look into him more.
At 19:00 I almost spit out my coffee....he repeated my metaphysics exactly.
"There are no things" ...."patterns".
Music is the truest form of art. It is sonic patterns with none of that corrupting effect of language, symbols, forms.
Very Schopenhauerrean....all is like a symphony.
Flowing....Heraclitus.

Play of opposites is a very organic way of symbolizing the cosmic....patterns interact.....and they interact in a degree of agreement/disagreement, harmony/disharmony....or attraction/repulsion.
Dualism is the organism placing itself (subjective) at some shifting centre, and then evaluating all else in relation to itself. So it must think in binary ways..... in relation to the objective, which is the world, or cosmos.
Matter/Energy are divided along that cognitive, subjective line.
There are, in fact, no opposites....because there is no static point in space/time and all divisions are subjective.
There is only an interplay of degrees of harmony/disharmony, patterned and non-patterned energies interacting.

Philosophy has to be considered from this perceptive....from psychology.
Only then can the mind perceive itself perceiving....and recognize its language and metaphors for what they are.
Then you can distinguish the tool form the art, and the art from the world.
Realizing how the art, of physics, metaphysics, idealism, is shaped by the tool of language, can differentiate it from its objective - the world itself.

The right-brained think wholistically. They compensate for clarity and understanding with knowledge, feelings, sensations, intuitions.
The left-brained are more lucid, focused. They understand what they know.

Those dominated by the right-brain risk going astray with their intuitions, because they can be corrupted by hope, fear, expectation, idealism.
The vagueness of their sensations makes them vulnerable to self-interest, flattery, ego.
Those dominated by the left-brain risk the loss of knowledge they cannot integrate not acknowledge into their reasoning.
Hellenic balance is the left dominating but not rejecting the right - masculine dominating the feminine but not repressing, rejecting, ignoring or burying it.

Psychology of metaphysics, or as the right-brained ones would approach the subject, metaphysics of psychology.
Bottom<>Up thinking, rationalizing – synthesis left/right, from the left side.
The ideal would be a Hellenic balance from the left side, rather than a balance from the right – hedonism.
Intuition can use reason to fabricate any meaning.
Reasoning cannot. It is inclined to rationalize emotions using empiricism, and the scientific method. This can only be negative if it becomes exaggerated, resulting in procrastination, indecisiveness, stifling self-consciousness.

Place among sheeple, primed for exploitation from birth, a charlatan that can manipulate words, Scripture, in a pleasing way, a flattering way, a comforting way, and you have the basics of a cult, and an explanation of how Nihilism works, and with what types of people it works.

Abrahamism exploits the gullible and needy - the desperate and retarded.
Once exploited even if they lose faith they are still vulnerable to exploitation.
See the documentary, but also the history of Marxism, and Scientology....
Losing faith in the abrahamic deities, the infantile narratives, does not make the genetic feebleness disappear. It just makes it more desperate.
Why is Marxism and Christianity such enemies?
Why are Christian thinkers, like Peterson, the only antagonists to post-modern decay?

The evidence is all around us.
Study cults, and how they begin and how they flourish.....and think of Abrahamism as a cult that became a religion.
Religion being a designation of popularity and power.
With no empirical, external reference, no utility other than psychosomatic, what Nihilism replaces the world with is humanity....
Humanity = world.
How do they evaluate truth?
By popularity.
By its effect on humans.
How does it feel, how does it comfort, how does it flatter and offer hope....
How many believe?
They covet the effect.

Like hedonists covet pleasure.

Lacking a reference to reality nihilistic theory, dogma, needs a proxy.
A messiah figure, an idol, and icon.
Cults are about a personality.
Jesus was the personality Saul sold to desperate slaves.
Nihilism can only exist as theory, represented by word/symbol, so it can only exit in the mind.
Its 'power' can only be felt by the ones who are infected, initiated. The ones who have faith.
This is why it always needs a proxy.
Dead or alive. A Saul can sell a proxy, like Jesus, presenting himself as the one who 'gets the message' who understood the Messiah's teachings.
A proxy to a proxy - a priest.
Koresh presented himself as a representative of Jesus, or God.
Another may present himself as a proxy to Koresh to exploit his leaderless followers, to exploit what he prepared.
Charlatans will always present themselves as proxies to proxies - interpreters of the interpretations of an interpretation, or of the world.
The world is ignored, or sampled.

The Messiah must offer himself as the only conduit toward 'truth'......even though the world is all around us, not hiding, revealing itself to all.
Herds need a master.

Exploit stupidity....spin words so that you are selling the opposite of what you are saying.
Redefine the word 'freedom' in a way that leads to slavery - independence through dependence.
Spin-doctoring....is Nihilism.
Release the half-wit among the witless.
Such a man-child will begin to believe in his own fabricated persona.
Skepticism will be reprimanded...anger, vengeance....the Messiah feels hurt when his lies are questioned. True faith requires unquestioning loyalty.

A particular type of mind is prone to addictions....others seem immune.
A particular type of mind is prone to become a follower...others are immune to it.

Sometimes the two are part of the same process. Cults using drugs to weaken the will...to soften the mind.

The same genetic pools are harvested....the fisherman fishes where there are many fish.
Jesus was a fisher of men....as are all Nihilists.
There are no blood bonds, and no objective reality to connect minds, so what is left is feeling, need, emotion....desire.

PostSubject: Re: Psychology 101 Psychology 101 - Page 8 EmptyTue Feb 20, 2018 7:14 am

Some basic commonalities between cults.

- There is always a figure that claims to be a prophet, or a messiah.
Charismatic, or a linguistically able, in relation to the types of psychologies it attracts.

- There is always a prophesy - some doomsday prediction, an 'end of times' scenario which sets up the cult's appeal. It offers protection, salvation.
Something is coming and only the prophet can see the signs.

- It is anti-empirical, anti-rational. These would inhibit proselytizing.
This is why race, sex is usually not part of its identifiers. The identifier is 'spiritual', meaning it is something occult, esoteric. Usually it means those who can believe, who surrender, who do not doubt, resist have the 'gift' are the 'chosen'...everyone else is doomed.

- There is a Script, some book the prophet can and has deciphered for his followers.
The language is obscure, convoluted, poetic, metaphorical....otherwise it would not require deciphering.
The prophet translates the script in a way that can mesmerize and impress those he is converting to his mind-slaves.

- Sometimes there's an icon/idol the prophet either embodies, channels, or is the reincarnation of.
The 'prophet' claims to be communicating with this figure across the ages, across space/time.
Jesus was such a figure for Saul....but it can be any famous dead person. Anyone who cannot contradict the 'prophets' reading of the script.
The icon is chosen by his effect on the target audience. The 'prophet' wishes to repeat his effect and twist the message in the script to accommodate his particular objectives.
Saul took Jesus' anti-church sermons and created a church.

- Prophet is usually narcissistic and domineering.
Rage is how he reacts to any rejection of his message.
He may start as kind, benevolent, to bring others into his control, and then he changes, revealing something new in the script to make him god-like.
He will flatter, sooth, lend support, like a father figure. Then he will gradually reveal his psychosis.
With Koresh it came when he dissolved marriages within the group, and then slept with the women that were part of relationships.

When an idea is nihilistic and needs other minds to exist, and an icon and prophet to inspire with words, then distance is an antidote.
Magic dissipates when the source of the trick is not present to reaffirm it.
Cults that are based on personality worship must find a replacement once the personality dies.
His words, if he leaved his thoughts behind in code, will be adopted by the new icons as if they were their own.

Realism, by contrast, requires no presence once it is revealed. It requires no personality to worship. In fact personality sometimes hinders its appreciation because of ego conflicts.
In this case death removes a hindrance.
The entire world reaffirms theories if they are lucid and most probable.
They can only be replaced by a better theory.

A cult always sells something the potential followers covet, and they covet it because they lack it.

That which he covets he craves and names it.
By naming it he makes it intimate. He brings it closer.
The name exposes the need it seeks to fulfill.
He may rename it, if the name given is unsatisfactory. If it does not adequately express the need/desire.
The loved one is given a pet-name. It makes them our own - it marks them as ours.

This is easy when the name, like most modern names, have nothing to do with the individual's reality.
We name our children using connections - a tradition, of honouring our fathers, in which case the name represents this connection, or, as is often the case these days, the parent names the child influenced by a pop-cultural figure.
The parent gives their own child a name of what they covet.
Very Oedipal.

So when we rename against convention, connecting to a past, or adhering to a rule that facilitates communication with our intended audience, we seek to make it intimate and to direct our desire to a specific type.
The choice of the new name exposes this desire. It\s not random, but deeply personal....like a dream it is not always direct, but metaphorical. Minds hide their true intentions behind metaphors and insinuations.
Sometimes they hide it from themselves, and can only appreciate it in reflection - when it is echoed back by another.
How it is redefined exposes the type we wish to attract, and this desire exposes that which we covet.

PostSubject: Re: Psychology 101 Psychology 101 - Page 8 EmptyWed Feb 21, 2018 10:16 am

A missing father can also be a positive.
The presence of a bad father will be more destructive to the child than his absence.
Absence can either lead to growth or to stunting.
Genetics are a factor. The parents, ironically, passing on the potential they cannot, themselves, cultivate.

The majority latches onto abstractions given to it by its environment - which in modern socioeconomic systems are marketed symbols, product names.
A few seek what they lack in books....but unable to relate they also seek guidance in those who translate the books for them.
This inability to relate comes from a genetic lack - there is no memory to draw from.
The mind cannot relate and so cannot connect the material to the real world. The mentor becomes a father that is missing, and like all dead fathers children do not experience he becomes mythical.
Divine means detached from reality, among Abrahamics.
Abrahamic Scripture is, by definition, nonsensical....so no reading can be related to self, and a mentor is always needed - a proxy to translate the book to the child.
Lacking a reference outside the mind such translation lead back to mind - the child's, as sensation, emotion, or the mentor's who now becomes the expert, the priest, the representation of the magical nonsense contained in the Script.

The mentor has to cultivate the sense of authority - of being a father figure connecting the child to a new past, a redefined historical context.
Triggering emotions, sensations, pop-culturally indoctrinated word associations, is effective.

These replace for the absence of real experienced validations, in world, in reality.
The cult leader attempts to make himself the validating authority to this new reading of Scripture, of words.

Realists do the opposite.
They free the mind from authorities, and make them independently validate the theories presented to them.
Experts become secondary sources of validation, and not primary sources, as they are in Abrahamism and all Nihilistic systems of "thought".
The mind becomes an expert, comparing his own judgments with those of others....because all are theorizing about a shared world.
The world becomes the standard.
In nihilism the authority, the individual is the standard.....and this may be solipsistic or cultist....the mind may be your own, or another.

We can see the importance of warping words, altering their utility.
The symbol/word no longer connects mind to body, or theory to reality, or noumenon to phenomenon....but acts as the point, in the nervous system, where it turns inward.
Much to its satisfaction....because reality is a harsh and uncertain state.

The absence of a father, a good father, can make the child open to any semblance of a paternal figure - daughter/female coveting a father may lead to an endless search for the idealized version of the absent. Males finding themselves in such a predicament remain men-children - following anyone that presents himself as a masculine ideal.
It can also lead to a rejection of all authority. A lack of trust in all authority figures, a rejection of the superior...a mentor to overcome.
A good mentor, like a good father, wants his sons/pupils and daughters/pupils to overcome him....but not by rejecting him, or fabricating an alternate father-figure that annuls him.

I describe this as the alignment of past and future through presence.
The metaphysical and the ideal must align in the physical.
The theory and the objective must align in appearance, in presence...otherwise it is doomed to fail, starting a process of blaming self, or, most often, blaming others for this failure.

This is what the supernatural does....it makes the alignment impossible.
The mind is trapped - made to feel guilty, by a charlatan desiring to create a cult with him as the supreme authority....or it blames all others, making it impossible to find his way out of a conundrum.

A good father, like a good teacher, does not present a world only accessible through him, nor himself as the ideal.
He makes of himself the connection to world, hoping to be surpassed. He does not make himself the end, but the means.

Theories are,. therefore, judged by the student/child in relation to world.
Nihilism stops this. Makes the standard some icon/idol - an absolute father-figure, a supreme authority.
Their words are empty of meaning. They can only feel the truth, sense it, believe it, and pretend to understand it.
Look at Christianity.
They have no clue what their won god is. they simply believe in the sensation, the feeling, and then pretend to understand by offering nonsensical definitions and explanations meant to impress a gullible and primed and ready to surrender audience - preaching to the choir.

Marxism was believable to a generation raised no Abrahamic nonsense.
It simply changed the names....and replaced god with a new representation of absolute order.
It did not necessitate much convincing, because the minds it seduced had already been seduced by even more childish nonsense.

A domineering, or dominating father can have detrimental effects on the development of a boy...and of a girl.
The effect is stunting, or retarding the boy's maturation.

Men-Children remain children, their thinking romantic (feminine), infantile, magical, because of this effect.
Abrahamism makes of the father an insurmountable authority, and so it producing men-children by the millions.

Every need/desire in excess of our own is unattractive. It hints at an imbalanced relationship, a draining codependence.
The Desire to be desired and the need to be needed is duplicitous. It tries to make the other weak to hide its own.

Need is to the body what desire is to the mind.
The brain is the most energy consuming organ in the human organism. It functions on the excess the body supplies to it.
As such mind relates to energy as excess; as overflowing, directed outward, spilling itself onward.

The body has a different relationship with energy. Unlike the brain it is exposed to world and its consistent interactivity - its attrition.
It feels this as a draining need, a lack, that needs constant gratification, constant fulfillment.

An organism has a surplus of attracting forces counteracting the repulsing ones within his own tension of being.
Then it evolves a reproductive strategy that necessitates the cooperation with another.
from this it evolved the bonding necessary to gestate larger brained offspring outside the uterus....because gestating it inside the uterus would burden the female to a degree that she would perish.
From there some evolve the additional strategy of cooperative units, necessitating tolerance and making specialization a synergistic advantage.
All this requires an emotion to bond, and to control the fight/flight mechanism, and to repress any traits that would inhibit any cooperation.

So 'love' is deified. Demystifying it would reduce its magical effect.
The majority cannot control their selfish primal urges if not for a carrot and stick - no threat/reward, no motive, no reason.
More so when they are surrounded by individuals with no blood ties to them.
