How the idea of God emerged

Other than the bicameral mind explanation which has been mentioned on the forum recently and which I very much like, I have one of my own.

Through history, humans mostly lived in socially constructed, man-made environments. This is especially true during their early, formative years when their parents and tribe would keep them away from nature. So from an early age people would be ingrained with the idea that the ultimate cause of everything happening around them is another agent. Why do we have huts? Because people built them. Why do we have hammers? Because people built them. Why must we walk on this and not that side of the street? Because tribal chieftains said so. For most of the things that happen within society the cause would rightly be identified as an agent, even if we do not directly know the people who built the huts, or the tribal chieftains who decided some rule. People are raised in an environment where the reasoning is, if it happens, an agent did it.

Then some people grow up, venture into nature and apply the same reasoning there - if society is a human construct, then nature must be the construct of some agent too - God. Even if we do not directly see him, that's how we are used to thinking about things and what was most accurate in our previous environment when we also sometimes didn't directly see the agent.

Hence also why God looks like a tribal chieftain - old, with long grey hair and beard, signifying age and experience and a higher potential for wisdom and dominance (causality) in society.

This is an extension of what I said...not a contradiction.

The externalization of a mental abstraction, an idea/ideal.
It is preferred because ideas are malleable, created by the mind, easily manipulated.
Language is a representation of mental abstractions.

God, the Abrahamic version, is Jewish....a projection of Jewishness, as an external agent.
This is why the Jews do not depict their deity...it is an idea, and must remain so.
Ambiguous enough to be anything.

Christians were influenced by Hellenism...so they had to try to connect the idea to the earth....this is the story of Jesus.
But they do not do it to synthesize idea with real (noumenon and phenomenon), but to be saved from the corporeal, the real. the idea remains god, that 'saves them from earthly existence.
Jesus is the word (logos) that sacrifices itself to ascend towards pure ideology - the crucifixion represents a ritual of linguistic purification - word detached from reality.
They corrupt Hellenism.
I'm not going to get into Islam, and its Zoroastrian, Semitic tribal origins - Arabs are another Semitic tribe.  
They do not depict their one-God, and also practise the same rituals other Semitic tribes do.

Yes, I didn't mean to contradict it. It's just another reason why I think belief in God emerged and remained so ubiquitous in humans.
