Yes, it's interesting to look at the trends. For example, if you look at alcohol consumption per person you see a steady decline since the 1990s. Divorce rates can also be misleading because in the West many young women have their first children out of wedlock, some get married 10 years after their first child, some don't get married at all and just find another guy to hang out with and maybe have another child with.

West: maybe have a first child, don't get married to the guy, find another guy with more money or whatever, get married to that guy, maybe have another child, maybe not.
