Hypothesis:
The primary function of behavior of an organism directly corresponds to how it acquires energy (nutrition). Any genus replicated by such organism (family) inherits first and foremost its ability to acquire the same energy type. Evolved organisms 'evolve' by means of diversification of energy acquisition (omnivorous diet).
Bacteria, Viruses, Fungai, Single-cell Organisms:
Molecular biology acts much the same as evolved animal species, by their energy specialization. Viruses act as parasites. Funguses act as scavengers. White blood cells, and other complex cellular structures, act as predators.
Plant-fiber, Photosynthesis, Complex Carbohydrates:
Perhaps all organisms on Earth require fibrous nutritional energies in one form or another. The Sun provides energy through its light particles, which is converted into material (Carbon) energy by the act of photosynthesis with water and a plant seed.
Herbivores, Omnivores, Carnivores:
The basic fibrous nutrition is converted into denser, organic carbon forms by Herbivore creatures. These in turn are predated upon by Carnivores and Omnivores.
Predation, Parasitism, Scavenging:
Here is where 'Morality' is observed in Nature, by how genetic-families compete against their Environment, to acquire, store, and secure Energy via Nutrition. Predators attack Herbivore creatures directly and consume meat. Omnivores retain some ability to survive via Herbivore diet, but not completely. Scavengers, unable to hunt and compete against live organisms, evolve a method to digest the dead and rotten.
Parasitism is a subset of Predation. Parasites tend to be much smaller than its victim or prey. Lion to elephant. Small wolf pack orbiting a large herd of deer or bison. Wasps to caterpillars, etc. Herbivores tend to grow to the largest sizes of animals: bovine, equine, elephant, giraffe, whales, etc.
When a carnivore hunts its prey, does it feel Guilt or Shame? Certainly not, otherwise such "moral" feelings would impede or cripple its ability to hunt.
From all of these, humans abstract natural behaviors, in Nature, and apply these strategies against one another (family against family, genus vs genus, race vs race, etc) to acquire "Power" / Energy / Nutrition as Fiat Currency. Societies fight against Societies.
One group employs its "education" upon a victim society, de-moralizing it, allowing the predatory or parasitical group/race/family/genus to dominate and usurp the victim's resources.
