4 pounds cooking apples, peeled and sliced 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 3 cups sugar 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preparation
Place sliced apple and vinegar in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cook, covered, at HIGH 6 hours. Stir in sugars and nutmeg. Reduce setting to LOW; cook, covered, 4 hours. Cool. Store in refrigerator up to 1 week.
1 lb ground beef or 1 lb ground pork 1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings 1 medium green pepper, coarsely chopped (I use frozen green pepper) 1 garlic clove, minced 1 cup medium grain rice 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1⁄2 teaspoon dried basil 1 1⁄2 cups water 1 teaspoon salt 1⁄2 cup cheese, shredded
Directions: In a skillet coated with spray oil, brown ground beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic until meat is browned. Drain off fat. Add rice; cook stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients (except cheese). Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally. Remove cover, sprinkle with cheese, if desired. (We put the cheese on at the table.).

About a 7 minute prep time and 30 minute cook time. I have this often now, as it's uncomplicated. I use: Basmati rice (it has the lowest amount of arsenic). Either fresh, freeze dried or dehydrated onion flakes. Tomato basil sauce (instead of the tomato cans/paste + basil). Either frozen minced garlic cubes or fresh minced. You can also buy the bell pepper frozen and pre-chopped. I either did without or bought pre-chopped fresh ones. Cheese can be any sort - and don't forget to use it; it ties the dish together really well.
I've been thinking about modifying it with chicken thighs and some other white sauce. Not sure how the chicken would hold up being boiled in the same way, though.

Baked sugar cookie covering a large pizza pan (no aluminum foil allowed on pan, no tacky) The mixed combo of at least 1-8 oz block of cream cheese softened and a tsp. of real vanilla (most add additional sugar but its really not necessary) and spread an ample covering over the entire cooled, baked cookie's surface. Desired fruits arranged, beautifully by inspiration. Clear fruit juice sweetened, cooked tapioca beads/gelatin (Minute Tapioca **not tapioca pudding**, 4 cups, can be poured (when cooled) over the fruit to seal out the air from spoiling the fruit. I recommend this seal if the pizza needs to be made a day or two in advance.

Strawberry Lemonade Newman's Own Lemonade ($2) Strawberry Preserves ($1 - Dollar Store)
1 Tbsp. of the preserves per 8 oz. of Lemonade [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
It tastes a little bit better than what you'd get at a fast food place which sells strawberry lemonade. I decided to try it because I bought too much lemonade and had some spare preserves.

I just cooked some spinach fettuccine, gave it some parmesan, alfredo and tomato pasta sauce, gave it a can of mushrooms, and that is that. I will use either 'Smart' pasta [mixed with veggie powder] or spinach pasta.

The physiology of people is quite different when it comes to food digestion, hence why not every dish is wholesome for everybody but noodles and a rich cheese sauce sure does taste very good. Southern Europeans do have a tasty cuisine.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Couldn't stand them when I was young....my parents drooled over them. Now, I have acquired a taste for them.
Especially with garlic sauce poured over them. We call them horta {χορτα}, literally meaning grass. Very healthy. My dad used to save the water they were boiled in and drank it.
Served with olive oil, of course, salt pepper and lemon, usually a side dish for fish.
