He wins the final battle by painting himself as the victim and shaming his opponent by ridiculing him for having an intact family. And I think this is not even portrayed by the movie as being an 'emergency measure'. The last one, the crowning achievement was a battle of the victims.
It was about obtaining the favor of the crowd, so, actually, I find it to be quite realistic.
Do you have any ideas how you'd counter Eminem's final rap?

It would be kind of hard to counter Eminem's final rap because he, essentially, poked a hole in the other guy's water balloon, there's not much he could say. He could have made some other white jokes, or made something up. But Eminem took the guy by surprise, left him speechless.

And I don't think that Eminem was insinuating that having an intact family is a negative thing in itself. The black guy was just being a poser, pretending that he was some hard gangster. Eminem was shaming the other guy's fakeness.

Fake-ness perhaps too but mainly I got the impression that 'Clarence' was being elevated by Eminem as to not being one of the crowd but privileged.

I think Clarence could have tried to turn the tables again and add love into the mix. Painting himself as the one who wanted to give Eminem credit with his final rap, realizing that he's 'cool' but Eminem with his 'hate' being unable to make peace with.
Victim+Love to trump Victim.

There's no victory there.  He's already lowering himself by participating in that type of contest... Look at the audience and how they react to the most stupid things.... Ironically, the "hardest" men maintain an un-breachable aura of distance around themselves... These rap contests are emotionally driven, play on the insecurities of their opponent, and require continuous emotional reactions/feedback... they don't limit themselves to any approach(they'll play the victim card if they need to, and somehow this doesn't make them any less "hard"...as long as they are "creative" enough to keep things rhyming the audience is wowed)....Maybe there are more intelligent rap battles where the "stinging" is more subtle, i dunno.

No it wouldn't... Just play on family values in your rebuttal, on "where you come from"(give it new meaning)... redefine being "hard" to agree with a normal well-adjusted family... Being hard isn't just who has the most miserable family upbringing and lives a pure life of hustling... "black people are more than this"(play up that angle... "black people can be educated" etc)...black man "stealing" white man knowledge and bringing it back to the ghetto...the "black Prometheus" or something ridiculous like that...There's really no end to how idiotic things can get when everything is allowed and all that matters is keeping up a rhyming scheme on the fly.

I got to hand it to you, Perpetual; you made some valid points there, especially about the crowd reacting to inanities. Great criticism.

Modern neuroscience reveals the lack of a quantifiable self. No specific center of consciousness to be found. Different parts of the brain interacting, turning active and inactive, without a core.

Possession then the greatest trick ever told. The identification of a core, susceptible to demonic influences overriding it, grand illusion.

All is a vast system of hard-wired and soft-wired neural connections. Experience strengthening certain connections and by default loosening others. Individuals with super-intelligence in a certain sphere often prove uttely incompetent in others. The hard-wired form of this attributed to certain types of autism.

So forth it goes.

I love how Rambo choke slams that Left wing pansy ( towards the end of the scene ).
I'm a big fan of the Rambo franchise, only one I didn't, really, care for was the third film. All else are badass.
