The Master is a masterpiece!  Phoenix and Hoffman outstanding.

It is a pity Laconian is not around as I would have been interested in his opinion of this depiction of Scientology.

Wasn't he a new recruit into Scientology?

"Anderson’s Master draws inspiration from the real-life rise of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard during the 1950s, but the 5-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker clearly has higher aspirations than to create a backdoor biopic about the man who founded a mysterious religious/cult organization that so many famous Hollywood players (Tom Cruise, John Travolta, etc.) subscribe to with unbridled devotion.

The project instead appears to use Hubbard’s story as a stepping stone to stage a greater allegory about how American society attempted to hide its disillusionment in the aftermath of WW II beneath a veneer of wholesome values and morality. That assessment is based on the Master trailer, where we see Sutton try (and fail at) respectable occupations, such as farm work and family photography – before he becomes the right-hand man to Dodd, under the (misguided) belief that his newfound devotion can save him".

One of the most popular phrases between Polish people, especially between soldiers and football fans, is

Amor Patriae Nostra Lex

from Latin:

Love for the Fatherland is Our Right

This scene is about it.

I was reminded of a similar scene, except it includes the Xt. heritage as part of the patriotism:

Irreversible - Ending Scene

It truly exemplifies Amor fati. All actions echo for eternity, knowledge of that alone satisfies the soul.
Even thou the horror; great sufferings are noble and thus not to be regretted.

A dumb teen movie from the 80's called The Last American Virgin. The ending however is very rare in that it is both tragic and realistic. This nerd obsesses over a new girl in school. His more fit looking friend lands her right away, gets her pregnant and immediately abandons her after finding out. The nerd goes through great lengths to get enough money to pay for an abortion for her. He then attentively nurses her afterwards for a weekend at his grandmothers house who is out of town. After she gives him a pity kiss on the last night, he goes to her birthday party later in the week only to find her making out with the guy who got her pregnant. He drives away broken and defeated, just as such a character would in real life.

I borrowed this DVD from a friend this week titled "The Boston Strangler", Tony Curtis, playing the role of Albert De Salvo, (TBS), this is an extract from part of the film, which in itself is powerful, but the performance of Curtis's life is acted out further on in the movie where he pantomimes De Salvo's murder of another victim.  It is not spectacular like Silence of the Lambs, and the banality of his evil may appear bland, but it is fact and Curtis captures inside the mind of a serial killer to perfection.

Introduction of epic proportions. How the States became to richest nation. The I do not give a fuck, trailblazer, do it your self attitude. No real established Aristocracy, a power vacuum to be filled, race to the top. This is the most fully American movie ever made.

My favorite movie character of all. Incredible experience to see your ideal self on screen. I know of none else more relatable and authentic.

Not the full scene. Requires full context to understand. A pastors hypocrisy fully exposed. In the end the self deceivers lose. One of the most satisfying scenes ever. One of the best ending scenes ever.

I had a grin the entire movie. It's just to much fun.

Scorsese makes allusions to the übermensch by displaying those books and posters, which include The Will to Power and The Cell Within.

Exploiting Christian ideals in order to advance himself.

Less than human and more human. Everybody falls into one of these two categories.

Great movie by the same guy who made the best Jesus movie; The Last Temptation of Christ.
Also De Niro looks strikingly similar to Satyr. Or is that just me?

A tale of the man who conquered death. The West at its peak. Rome never colonized its only competing civilization.

This is a grandiose hallucinatory journey into, and out of, hell: drugged, neon-lit and with a fully realised nightmare-porn aesthetic that has to be seen to be believed.

If that is your conception of Nietzsche and what he stood for and what he said, then you belong amongst those who think I am pretending to be an alpha-male or who think being physically strong is what ones means by masculine.

It's an aspect of his WTP, no doubt, but not the entirety.

Physical strength is an aspect of masculinity too.

Yes...now answer me this:

If you had a choice, would you want to be a horse, all well-muscled, tall, strong, fast, beautiful to behold, with a huge dick flapping beneath your tight belly, or that small fuck, pulling its rope?

We all admire stallions.
Women love them
The most primitive ones.
Why do you think niggers are in.
Not the RAP, only.
Not the bling-bling, and the cribs and the spinning rims, and that limp.

There are animals, in the wild, who are bigger, stronger, prettier, faster, with a stronger constitution, than the human...and yet in whose house are they fenced?

Might operates in many forms, Satyr.

Since your question is framed in a certain way, obviously, I would want to be the one who is, within this context, mightier for the time being, i.e., the master on the horse.

Might can operate physically and mentally. Humans are the ultimate A-pex predators due to their unique form of mental capacity.

As prior mentioned, I seek to strengthen myself physically and mentally. I'm not a mere dumb brute.

I seek to be a lion ( physical strength ) and a sage ( mental strength ). Balance of opposites.

Insecure and untalented people always put on the show of self-esteem, they are dependent on the validation of others. The power for one ape make another ape do tricks is an empty form of power praised by stunted half-wits. The real battle lies within; obtaining knowledge and achieving perfection. Perfection lies within a state of flow, when the regulating super-ego is removed from the equation, and all responses become automatic, essentially hyper-focus. If you have ever experienced it you know what i mean. The super-ego is the perception of your ideal self, it is reflective upon perceived expectations of society, or your ideal society. Nihilists attempt to return this state of perfection through the removal of all standards, and through methods such as meditation. But its true form is that of flow within an act, and only the greatest can get there.

It may all be for nothing in the end, so is there any value to be derived intrinsically?

Imagine the statistical odds of all the events leading up to this point of your life. Then try to honor this statistical odd in furthering the impossible. That gives me meaning.
