| I wonder if you can call the cops when you get raped at a football game. _________________ γνῶθι σεαυτόν μηδέν άγαν

| This was magnificent. At the moment of those rapid fire goals halfway the first half, an enormous thunderstorm was raging over Germany.
Hail Wotan!

| Never seen anything like it. It wasn't only a measure of German brilliance, but also a case of Brazilian incompetence and spinelessness.
All the Brazilians crying were a bit pathetic.

That was the most interesting part. Those mindless buffoons crying over a bunch of guys kicking an inflated sack around. We can all appreciate the control of chaos, exhibited in the sporting event, but that was, as you said, pathetic. It's the only thing they are proud of. When identity is separated from a a deeper past, to preserve cohesion in divergence, you get this. _________________ γνῶθι σεαυτόν μηδέν άγαν

When identity is separated from a a deeper past, to preserve cohesion in divergence, you get this. Sports are watered down versions of war. The fans identity with their teams akin to members of a tribe identifying with the tribe, especially the sport of soccer. Fans will, quite literally, kill fans of rival teams. Something primal, something primitive about it. When their team loses, it's like watching their tribe be pillaged and plundered. |

When their team loses, it's like watching their tribe be pillaged and plundered. An eriticizes thymos. Nobody gets hurt - they only have their pride, and their feelings hurt. Notice that in Brazil with their race-mixing, and absence of any intellectual life, what takes over? Sports and eroticism. Masculinity as a game. The entire culture is based on sexuality...hyper-sexual - hedonistic. Nation replaces blood - nation being an abstraction that requires some central theme to become tangible. In the U.S. it is "freedom". Their role as freedom-fighters, while internally they are enslaved in mind and in spirit. The freedom police needing 'bad guys' to keep their job. In Canada it's this niceness, this fair-play, and tolerance for all - self-repression. In Brazil its physical pleasures: sports, martial arts, sex (hedonism); it's about the body moving to a natural rhythm - the Zion dancing scene in the Matrix: hippies surrendering to metabolic beats. Soccer was a dance in Brazil...this last batch sucked at it - they lacked rhythm, artistry, erotic imagination to penetrate the other's "net". That's why it was so personal for them. Goals are penis thrusts - they were raped by the Germans. They suffered the psychological trauma associated with being physically violated. These central themes become identifiers replacing blood, and appearance. Everyone is united under the flag, representing this end. _________________ γνῶθι σεαυτόν μηδέν άγαν

| What happens when an entire nation is raped twice, at its own party?
Do they hold a coup d'etat? _________________ γνῶθι σεαυτόν μηδέν άγαν

| Depends on the nation. If it is Brazil, it all ends in music, dance, cachaca, and meat on the grill. We've been getting raped for 500 years. The saying goes, and I kid you not, if you can't avoid rape, try to orgasm. Brazil in a nutshell for ya. |
