As I make this thread the government is experimenting with technology that renders individuals and military vehicles invisible. It sounds like something right out of fiction and originally the concept was, but now they have made such a concept reality.
The question posed in this thread is, can we trust the government in the monopolization of advanced technology?
My answer to that question is no we can't.
What's to stop the government from utilizing this technology to go after political dissidents?
The reality is that there is nothing stopping the government from doing so.
How hard would it be for somebody utilizing the technology of invisibility to sneak up on you while you're sleeping and kill you in your sleep?
Perhaps they'll kill you with some cyanide spray while you're sleeping.
Perhaps they'll kill you by that of air embolism with the use of a syringe where your heart explodes by that of a gas bubble traveling through your veins.
In both cases at the morgue upon the examination of your dead body your murder or assassination would be written off and explained by that of natural causes.
That's the thing about it right there in that if they truly wanted individuals dead they could easily make it look like the people died of natural circumstances.
I could easily see the CIA running an assassination program with this level of technology.
As usual, however the stupid majority trusts and have faith in a government organization where they don't question its motives for everything that it does.
On a separate and humorous closing of this subject, I can think of plenty of fun activities that I myself could use this technology for.
Government is getting so far ahead of us technologically, that in the future, they'll be able to alter our brain waves via harmonic resonance so we'll become willing slaves, agree to be rounded up, culled, and sent to FEMA camps, where they will work us 16 hours a day, perform experiments on us and use us as sex slaves. Eventually we'll become altogether obsolete, due to advances in computers and robotics. Only a few of us will be kept alive, as pets, and in museums and zoos, as the elite become Godlike via cybernetics and genetic engineering, and travel to other worlds.
This scenario is now a possibility we have to take very seriously.
If people want a future prison planet where everything is controlled by a tyrannical technocratic minority, then yes, keep on supporting transhumanism. A technological nightmare with the seeds of humanity's own destruction.

I don't know. I'd be perfectly happy roaming the wilderness for all times provided the right company of course. But of course that would still be a downgrade.
Or, they could just send nanorobots or viruses to target specific individuals (dissidents) or general collectives in order to reduce populations, and make it look like natural freak occurrences. The nanorobots and viruses would only target some haplogroups and not others, so sufficient quantities of people would survive, to carry on the aboveground economy, for as long as necessarily required. As the population is being incrementally reduced to 10 or 1% of what it is today, the elites (and by elites, I'm not talking the upper middle class, or even the upper class, I'm talking the over class, the 1% of 1% who really run things) will be busy creating alternative, clandestine communities (in some cases they'll be subterranean, in other cases, they'll be off world), where sophisticated technologies, computers and robots do nearly all the labor, running on geothermal, hydroelectric, solar panels and wind turbines. When the time is right, they'll exterminate the remaining 10 or 1% of the population, and if they still require human beings at all, they'll use something like harmonic resonance to enslave them, or they'll round them up with robots. Some of the more aggressive cancers out there might already be the product of bioengineering, some speculate that HIV/AIDS was manufactured by the American government in order to reduce populations.
