Death is what necessitates reproduction - re-producing the cycle of life, requires a sacrifice of life.
Death signifies an end of intentionality - sum total of future possibilities in the dynamic present where the death act is finalized.


Throwness = life awakens to itself, as a momentum/movement towards unknown possibilities, gradually gaining some control over its momentum, directing it towards projected objectives.
Falling = declining from higher towards diminishing possibilities - movement towards death as their finality is a constant care of an awakening life to its own throwness.
Falling = loss of control, turning away from possibility.

Alongside = present. We make of ourselves available to others for interpretation - appearance - and interaction - existent.

Ahead of itself = projection forwards/backwards so as to create whole. Whole does not exist anywhere but I the mind where it exists as idea, i.e., abstraction.
Dasein is looking back as it lives forward, overcoming its organic - physical - limitation by projecting - mind - possibilities as probabilities.
These projections act as guides orienting and focusing will so as to make possibility into increasingly probable - free-will: selecting from among possibilities, i.e., choice.

The starting concept is existence.
There is no before or after existence, because that would be, by definition, non-existence.
Nihilism begins from the non-existent, and returns to it, in either the before or after, i.e., the underlying or overlaying.

From this starting premise of multiplicity - conceptualized as a singularity - we advance towards sub-categories using empiricism, i.e., appearances of what is present as existent.
Existence itself can only be conceptualized by the organic brain as a singularity, given a symbol/word to represent its abstraction.
Existence = interactivity, dynamic, energy...any term will do which denotes some form of process, or dynamism that does not require a subjective interpretation to exist.
Interactivity, for example, is how the organic mind relates to what precedes its emergence within existence, and will follow if it ceases.
Before/After only apply to processes - patterns or congruent patterns - that exist - therefore, only life begins and ends in a ambiguous point in space/time.
It is ambiguous because the mind deals with absolutes and reality is fluid, ergo the precise point in space/time when life begins and ends cannot be known only approximated - given a broad temporal/spatial spectrum encompassing all points of space/time within which this emergence occurs. Broadly speaking, life begins when sperm enters ovum, beginning the process of division, and it ends when brain functions cease.
The brain is the evaluating tool - judge - ergo its demise - is the end, even if the body may continue functioning.
In organisms with no brain - no nervous system - the general point of death is when it can no longer sustain itself - self-maintain - beginning the process of decomposition.

What differentiates and distinguishes the living from the non-living?
Memory.

The non-living retain nothing from interactivity, other than the consequences.
The living - even in their rudimentary forms - are guided by pervious interactions, i.e., events; precedent is continuously juxtaposed with presence, guiding/informing its interactions.
In higher life forms this juxtaposition includes past, relative to present, and with a projected, i.e., anticipated, future - triadastic.
Every interactivity is retained - for whatever span of space/time - in the form of a biochemical algorithm as memory - DNA is a type of memory (body) to which experiential memories (mind) are added in higher life-forms.
Every interaction (event) has a cause which is stored in short-term and long-term memory, and which is used to create the stream of consciousness we call mind, as a continuous juxtaposition between present interactions (events in a dynamic space/time continuum) being constantly compared with precedent (past interactions stored, for a period of space/time, in a simplified/generalized - abstracted - form) informing its interactions in the present.
This informing is what determines willing, as it guides the organism's interactions in the present, and in higher life-forms it may even project probable future events as objectives or as probabilities to be avoided.

The question is, how did this memory begin, because we know how it continued and how it evolved to its present sophistication in man?
How was data, as a by-product of an interaction (event) take a form that it could then participate in a subsequent interaction?
Some kind of iteration.
I can only hypothesize that because every interaction causes attrition - loss of energy - that at some point this lost energy was reintegrated back into the patterns that interacted, and that this reintegration is the foundation not only of memory but of feeding.
To complete the picture let us remember that life is a unity of multiple patterns, so the lost patterned energies were reintegrated - absorbed - as algorithmic sequences multiplying - and not simply adding - back to the complex unity what it had lost due to the attrition of existence.
Existence being dynamic interactivity.

Life is the continuing affirmation of itself, in reaction to death - return to the state of unconscious interactivity, i.e., flux.
Spinoza projected life into lifelessness - saw intent even in inanimate matter/energy - positive nihilism.
The universe was alive and willful.
Pure nihilists see life as inanimate matter/energy, lacking all intentionality.

The truth - allegorically expressed by paganism - is to be found - founded - in between these life-negating bipolar absolutes.
Intentionality (willfulness) - life - emerges out of unintentional interactions, and then returns to them.
Life is not the rule but the exception to a rule.
It is ordering maintaining itself in cosmological disordering.
It is why for life the novel - the exception to the rule, the rare - is a source of interest - care.
Consciousness evolves to help an organism deal with the unforeseeable, the exception, the uncanny.

Death is the dissolution of memories - crossing the river of forgetfulness, Lethe.
Death is a return to unintentional interactivity; surrendering to paths-of-least-resistance.
Death is a return to cosmic contingencies, bowing before the goddess Ananke.
Death is an escape from need/suffering; submitting to the incarcerating safety where nobody can hurt or be hurt.
Death is movement without motive; fragmentation without resistance, with no struggle.
Death is flow with no function.

Nihilism is the tern towards death - worshipping the nullification of existence via Afro-Asiatic death cults.
These death cults may present themselves as positive affirmation of life, when their dogmas, if they would be realized, would negate experienced existence - I call these "positive nihilism".
Their "positivity" conceals its negative dogma in the form of positive theories delivered with positive language promising unreal, surreal, theories that exist nowhere but in the mind.
They cannot negate the world but they can negate in man his affirmation of life, so that he turns to hedonism or to self-abnegating dogmas to give himself and his existence a meaning.

Then look towards the Levant via Persia.

How can I meet your expectations when I consistently fail to become acquainted, in any intimate way, with my own?

I fear disappointing you as much as eluding myself in the chaos of my sojourn.
I force myself to stop and to sit still, and quiet, hoping to catch a glimpse of myself sneaking in the corners, when diminishing energies accentuate the power of my passing, but all I sense is the shy sound of my whispering to nobody, secrets they will never know, visions they will never see.

What of those last moments?
What final thoughts will I think, before they fade to black, never to be spoken of, or listened to?

Maybe the memory of a time lost in time, when the sun was high and my legs young and spry, laughing and singing, hunting butterflies in a flowery meadow, still unaware of what was to follow.
I bend over a flowing creek and drink deeply, one last time, cold sweet water mixing with hot salty tears, and I smile to nobody....but me.
