Food Trials

Fuck-Yes will be made again Friday. Gonna make a bigger batch. So delicious, I could eat it for breakfast and low carb, low calories, plant based so fairly healthy. The Greek baked beans are on hold, missing THE ingredient. Yemista will be on next weeks menu to which I am adding a lot of nutritional yeast(which has been said to give a cheesy flavor). The smooth fava/split pea dish will occur when I rediscover where I’m storing my blender. Lol.

I think my spin on this dish will be a spring and spinach mix with barley. I’ve never cooked with barley and it may prove to be exceptionally delicious in this recipe. Missing the fresh herbs. Thanks for introducing me to Akis(yum).

Update: A large pot of Fuck-Yes is simmering. Large Lima Beans are ordered. My version of Spankorizo has been revised, I’ll be using hominy instead of barley or the traditional rice. Preparation for this newest dish will begin after I pull the Fuck-Yes off the heat.

And I need to make bread(them bananas aren’t getting any fresher).

My take on Spankorizo. Definitely needed more spinach. The hominy is really delicious.

Newly ordered seasoning: Umami

No ideas of what to do with it yet. May order more truffle oil being that it was so delicious.

Yay! The large lima beans arrived! Greek baked beans(the second posted recipe) later this week.

My cacao beans arrived as well so I can start making my own dark chocolate. I have a manual grain/bean mill, so a candy thermometer is the other thing I still need.

Think I shall soak the lima beans for 2 days to plump them up.

Greek baked beans over Shirataki noodles. Ended up overcooking the beans, adding to much tomato, and forgetting the vinegar. Lol! The next batch will be better. First time trying Shirataki noodles too. Once my umami seasoning arrives, I may try to cook something Asian’ish.

The baked beans recipe called for honey, I used pure maple syrup instead.

The Umami seasoning arrived. To taste test it, I am going to air pop a batch of corn, melt a small amount of coconut oil, in which I’ll first dip the corn, then the corn will be dipped into the Umami spices. One of tomorrow’s projects.
