It's interesting how Utopianism is Dystopianism/Nihilism, in an individual's mind.
It represents a deep, unnerved, dissatisfaction and self-hatred with life.
This self-hatred creates a fantasy world that would hypothetically 'save' his interest in living. But since these are so fantastic and unreal, always ends with pessimism and cynicism, nihilism. Then the Utopia turns 'Evil'. Everything gold turns to ash, a Satanic trick.
These types are dominated by Cowardice, ultimately. They're cowards in essence, cannot and will not, will never confront Reality / Philosophy.

The actor's response to the robot's question "why did you create us?" echoes the cynical, narcissism of the Americanised scriptwriter "because we can". An Abrahamic cover story so as to not expose the one-god's motives as being contrary to his presupposed 'perfection.' Despite it, it leaves the idea of a sadomasochistic creator to be implied, for why would a creator create such a world of suffering....just because.
The real answer would discredit the Abrahamic one's god's omnipotence....because why does man create or procreate? Because he is imperfect, exemplified by his mortality. Man creates and procreates to find perfection, because he lacks it, and to reaffirm his own imperfect existence.
He creates copies of himself, recombined to achieve a different outcome; he creates to express his awareness and his reactions toward existence. He doesn't create just because he can....what a bullshyte non-answer, pretending to be an answer. 'Why' asks for a motive... a dismissive 'just because' pretends aloofness when need/desire is at work. Just because is not a motive.
Even Hillary's bullshyte answer to "why did you climb mount Everest?"...."because it is there..." implies much more depth of motive.
*********** As for emotions and how dangerous they might be if programmed into AIs.....we must begin by answering these questions: Why have emotions evolved? What advantage do they offer?
I've offered my own theories on why emotions evolved and why fear/anxiety is the primary emotion...explaining what advantages they offer and how they manifest in real life...
Why would man program emotions into AIs, and how would he not program his own understanding of them into these robots? Do modern minds sense that their understanding of emotions, primarily hate and love, are entirely romantic, naive feminine delusions? Is this the danger they sense? Would they instill into artificial intelligence their own romantic naivete which would be constantly contradicted by reality?
