I'm fascinated by the workings of precious metals and gems. I am sensitive to these things to a high degree, can sense it within seconds, energy sinking in, slightly transforming awareness, sometimes dramatically.

A golden band around ones ring finger is a connection of sun energy to sun energy. At least the Western and the Vedic palmistry schools agree, I haven't looked into the Japanese and Mandarin versions.

Gold is the most 'solar' of heavy metals in that it is created only in the collision of two neutron stars, I've read. All heavy metals require supernovae, but gold even requires that two collapsed stars collide. Only this maximal pressure that the universe can generate without becoming a black hole is able to compress matter into the utter incorruptible perfection of the gold atom.

A gold-plated king, a ruler robed in living-natures most splendorous fabrics and adorned with dead-nature's most excellent accomplishments, must carry a lot of weight in his soul to be able to withstand the temptations that come with the touch of gold. The perfection of self-valuing in gold is very strong in drawing out the need to dominate. A little is good, but a lot may well cause arrogance and blindness to others interests, especially in a world where the lure of possession is greater than the instinct to value. To possess what one does not value because it is valued by history, this is the surest path to the Devil of whom the wise men speak with reason - not the Angel of Force, but the tower of corruption, which grows more corroded as it reaches into the hollow skies.

I've heard Saturn attributed to Lead.
It would then be effective to wear a leaden ring on the middle finger.
Perhaps this would be a healthy start, before we get to gold.
Iron is given to Mars, copper to Venus.

Harnesses for the psyche, easy to devise, natural to buy, pleasant to wear - but on the other hand it's easy for a delicate natural balance to die off in this way. Experimenting with several metals around crucial energy lines is like injecting chemicals. You either do it with a purpose and ride it out or get involved in reactions separate of your will. It is small and subtle, but it's a force that's to be either used for a definite positive influence or not at all.

I wonder if the same goes for talent. Surely a talent is an ornament.

I am on the fixed cross; so I tend to keep one thing steady, and manoeuvre everything around it.

Also alligning kinds of foods with days is something I practise.

Can you elaborate Lyssa? What foods go with what days, and why is it important?

I was partly referring to the three kinds of natures and three kinds of foods, in allignment with the planets that rule those food types (eg., saturn is 'pleased/appeased' most with oil, and inert foods ('tamasic'), and so on saturday, oily food must be the least abused, and enjoyed in moderation, paid gratitude to, etc.

This dovetails with Plato's three natures as well - reason/will/passion;

Quote :
"Hear this of Me! there is a food which brings
Force, substance, strength, and health, and joy to live,
Being well-seasoned, cordial, comforting,
The "Soothfast" meat. And there be foods which bring
Aches and unrests, and burning blood, and grief
Being too biting, heating, salt, and sharp,
And therefore craved by too strong appetite.
And there is foul food- kept from over-night,
Savourless, filthy, which the foul will eat,
A feast of rottenness, meet for the lips
Of such as love the "Darkness." [Bhagavad Gita, 17]

Clarity foods [for calm]:

"Promoting life, sattwa [or: light], strength, health, happiness, and satisfaction, which are flavorful, smooth [or: oleogenous], firm, and hearty: such foods are dear to the sattwic." [17:8]

Vigorous foods [for action]:

"Pungent, sour, salty, excessively hot, harsh, astringent, and scorching: such are the foods desired by the rajasic, causing pain, misery, and sickness." [17:9]

Inert foods [for restraint]:

"Stale, tasteless, putrid, rotten, and left-over, the leavings of others, as well as the impure, is the food which is dear to the tamasic." [17:10]
