Rock is a broad category including what I consider to be many great bands (although rock is what I've basically only listened to.) Care to be more specific?
Never liked Pop all that much, don't think I ever will.
On a whole, keeping in mind every artist to ever fall under the rock genre - yes, the vast majority is going to suck. I tend to be very selective with what I listen to, so perhaps I'm just not fully aware of how much it really represents today's era. Usually, today's music represents today - that's how music has worked, so I've been told.
