Australians have their own Trudeau now. Some of the concerns and opinions I've seen here over the direction Australia is taking are well-founded. I would say though with regard to the Trudeau reference that Australia is more like the USA and New Zealand is more Canadian.
There is a Voice referendum to be held as well. Given the state of play regarding Australian political and social views, I have grave concerns it'll pass and we're going to create our own chosen people too. Personally, I think Albanese is probably making up for Labor missing out on the gay marriage plebiscite. Got trumped by the conservatives on that one, has to make up for it.

Women's reproductive specialized role necessitates that they remain true to power - to collective beliefs...due to their natural dependence on collectives when pregnant or gestating or weening young, with large brains. Not only homo sapient. They are compelled to submit to whatever power dictates....abstract or not. It's intuitive. They have no clue why or how they believe what they do.
As a consequence beta- or omega- males follow suit....where females go there they go. Emasculated males always adopt whatever females beleive...it is also their method of dealing with their own inadequacies. The 'nice-guy' strategy when you cannot be a 'bad boy.' Some pretend to be 'bad boys' by adopting criminal or counter-cultural stances...though they never, ever, ever, challenge the core beliefs of a collective, or what will immediately disqualify them from popular moral and ideological convictions - reducing the probability of them mating. They pretend they are "outside" the collective when they remain comfortably on the perimeter, the periphery, pretending to be wild and different... They dare not venture further away from the median...the coveted center of the herd. Mediocrity.
So dimwits determine how far away midwits are willing and able to stray.
I've talked about this using the metaphor of birds flocking and fish schooling. This dynamic creates a fluctuating perimeter and a a moving center. Humans do this both physically - herding - and ideologically - ideologically collectivizing.

Dumbing-Down means a reduction in a population's ability to discriminate, to perceive differences, nuances, subtlety. Genetic idiocy can be enhanced by memetically induced blindness - reduced consciousness. Self-deception....the mind convinces itself that it cannot see subtle signs, or that what it perceives is insignificant, irrelevant. Binaries, absolutes, are all it can acknowledge, and since absolutes are mental abstractions existing only in the mind, it projects; it sees what it was told is proper to see and no more. Sheltering makes the perception of details less relevant. There's minimal cost top remaining obtuse and retarded. There is no error, because there si no cost to being wrong.
