Their wealth and popularity, goes to their head. It makes them believe they are more than that. That they are intelligent, wise, knowledgeable, 'cultured' (whatever that means in their retarded minds). Whether they know it or not, they are exactly kindred to the hordes of simpleminded dipshits who worship them, they are one of them, brethren. Without their status, they would be nothing. Deep down they are nobodies. Just like the American Washington elites are kindred to the degenerate leftist masses they rule over, there is a shared inferior spirit that naturally propagates itself. For vulgar minds like theirs, the attention means they are valuable, noble, geniuses, because why else would they be so loved by so many if they were not?
This kind of deluded narcissism is what inspires them to run for political office, engage in philanthropy, and pretend to be revolutionary innovators of every sort.
Makes me think of a parallel to this regarding the users on ILP.
All their sly linguistic obfuscating theatrics. All the defensive evasive intellectual smoke and mirrors to divert away from how dull and simple they really are.
