Japanese cinema sensation Ryuichi Hiroki offers a knowing critique of modern consumer culture and human longing in a highly-original romantic drama concerning a shy waitress' growing fascination with a struggling musician. Miyuki (Mami Nakamura) is a timid café waitress. Miyuki's neighbor Yoshinori (Kazuma Suzuki) is an unsuccessful rock musician who's got charisma to burn despite the fact that he's flat broke. Every night when she believes no one is watching, Miyuki furtively slips out of her apartment to collect Yoshinori's garbage and gather the small mementos that offer telling insight into the object of her silent affections. As voyeurism gradually transforms into obsession Miyuki believes that she is slowly piecing together the life of the man she is falling in love with. As well as Miyuki thinks she knows Yoshinori, however, everything changes when the two lonely neighbors finally meet face to face in an empty club where Yoshinori strums a melancholy melody. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I would love to love this movie, and that's one of my fav. songs too you posted, but the last hotel scene was a spoiler,, can't relate with that kind of feminism or talking with my man that way...

That song was the best part of the movie. I wonder if some women take this too far:

Now she loves him and looks ahead with quiet confidence - like a cow. Alas, what bewitched him was precisely that she seemed utterly changeable and unfathomable. Of steady weather he found too much in himself. Wouldn't she do well to simulate her old character? To simulate a lack of love? Is this not the counsel of - love? Vivat comoedia (Long live comedy!).
Or getting into a cycle where she needs to be "won" over again and again. Or where the man is tasked with the responsibility (in part due to the dynamic she creates) to always have to calm her nerves.
You should really check out "A Via Láctea." I think you'd like it. I uploaded it to Rapidgator... I originally downloaded it from emule of all places... I wouldn't subject anyone else to that...Just need hjsplit to join files together

Yes. I like the original number she does in the second sequel with her guitar even more. The lines were nice.

Ariadne was supposed to represent the double Yea, to the Dionysian affirmation... she was the Seal of the first affirmation. Woman sets the seal. The Be-ing to the be-Coming again and again - consider how as Satyr pointed out, Man has to reinvoke his status [standing] needing to prove himself again and again. But here is where we distinguish that man who has to prove himself out of joy of his own being, and the other who does to impress a woman to gain her validation. A woman who expects to be given a Yea instead of giving a Yea has lost some part of her womanly sanctity. Just my view. In the film, she yearns for his acknowledgement and all the "sacrifice" she has performed... abs. unrelatable to my ears. Now that's like a real Horror film for me; makes me cringe.
