As a rule stupidity is its own worse enemy.
Under normal circumstances all you had to do is let it run its course.
Step aside and let it say and do what it says and does, exposing its nature so that nothing you can say will make it any more obvious.
Debating stupidity is a mistake. It legitimizes it.
Why bother?
It destroys its own credibility with every word it utters, and the beauty of it is it has no clue.

But we aren't in normal circumstances; we are forced to endure the consequences of mass stupidity.

Just got a call from my best friend. His mother is in the hospital, dying. She's 82.
Covid makes it impossible to offer support. All I can do is tell him how I coped with the death of my father.

Love these old British comedies, like Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister, Red Dwarf...movies like the ones the Monty Pythons made.

The advantage of obscure referencing is that one can only hope that nobody is around to challenge your understanding or ignorance of the sources you refer and defer to.

Obscurantism evades detection by remaining ambiguous enough to mean anything, and to not mean everything - plausible deniability.
Once cornered on a point just pretend that it wasn't what you meant, because you do not say anything clearly.

Obscurantism as a deference and reference has equal evasive advantages.
Not only can you pretend you possess knowledge nobody else has, but you can find some obscure language, like Latin or ancient-Greek, and hope nobody is around to test your hypothetical knowledge of it.
One buffoon on ILP attempted to evade, when he realized I spoke the language he pretended to know, i.e., Greek, by claiming he only spoke Ionian, a specific dialect of ancient-Greece - increasing the level of obscurity. Then he proceeded to make grammatical mistakes exposing how ignorant he was, because a basic knowledge of ancient-Greek would make one an expert in modern Greek, which is simpler, and the grammar is basically identical - then he proceeded to report me to the admins who were more than happy to rid him of my uncomfortable presence, for their own reasons of discomfort.

At this point in my life I know that it's only a matter of time...my youthful impatience has become patient confidence in the laws of probability.

Why should I become the agency of their exposure when life itself is their punishment?
Still, from time to time, I do get the hunger....like a hunter smelling blood.

I recently saw a documentary on tea.
There's an entire culture around its cultivation and preparation - a ritual.
Each type of tea comes from the same plant, but from a different part of the leaf.

There are even tea addicts.
So I've recently started drinking tea....like a proper English gentleman.
A tea from Ceylon. With a spot of honey.
Quite delicious.

One of the first things they will do i imagine will be to populate the extras and cast with Negros. One of the beautiful aspects of the series was that its actors were all European, which was the only way it could have accomplished the lovely depictions of heroic Aryan spirituality.

Maybe a few transsexual elves and lesbian dwarves....and, of course all heterosexual males with a obvious European heritage will be cast as evil.

One of my greatest disappointments in recent years was to see the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - specifically, the contrast between Wilder's Wonka and Depp's.

I was interested in seeing a report noting the slightly retarded development in speech in very young children who spent considerable amounts of time around masked adults.

Children emulate what they see.
One of the traumatic factors of adolescence is that young people realize that they cannot "be themselves" - no matter the bullshyte they are told by postmoderns and moderns - like they could when children.
They realize they have to wear masks, separating the personae - private self - from the character - public self, social image.
A more restrictive affair in heterogenous societies, where not even the body is considered to be part of one's identity, but a superficial cover, to facilitate genetic and memetic multiplicities - multiracial multicultural peoples - to be integrated within a singular nihilistic meme.
In this case the character, i.e., caricature, the performance, is the only acceptable identifier. Access to adornments - paraphernalia of concealment - indicates a high status performer.

The sun fatigues me....I see too much, everything is obvious and clear, in mine eyes...I need the gloom to rest and to turn inward.
I once wondered if I had northern European blood...but I do not.
I'm 99% southern-European - encircling the northern shores of the Mediterranean, centralized in the Balkans, with a 0.4 % touch of Asian, of all things.

I once considered moving to Iceland. Mostly for the women.

I had a Danish friend/lodger, who moved to Switzerland, and then the Faroe Islands, for the men.. I don’t know how that worked out for her, but she wasn’t too keen on living the primitive pre-industrial way of life there and eating whale blubber, so I don’t know if she actually went.. her cousin/my neighbour turned against me after many years of friendship, because her new boyfriend flirted with me.. I did not reciprocate.

Perhaps your .4% Asian is causing you all the grief.. I suffer similarly in the heat and the sun, in that it too irritates my eyes and zaps the energy out of me, which is why I wear brimmed hats all year round. I actually detest the sun, even though a paternal Indic ancestor was worshipped as a sun god.. an ironic travesty huh. lol

I guess Canada suffices for your cool and cloudy needs.. my perfect kinda day too.. with a nice breeze to go with.

Yes, Canada is perfect for my disposition, or my disposition was shaped by Canada.
I once went to a local spa....
I hated the sauna, and loved the cold baths, in the middle of winter...with near freezing waters that made the body tingle.
Felt amazing. The heat makes me lethargic.

I’m such a wimp with cold water.. that’s going way too far lol, though I do do cold douches of both face and body, as it’s said to be good for the nervous system, but a whole cold bath or shower? nah! I’d cry like a baby. I’ve had to train myself to tolerate the douches, and that took a long while to do.

Do you go sledding and wear snow shoes and spikes and such? The ice was so deep in Russia, that a whole bench was buried beneath it, and so we were actually walking about 2 feet higher off the ground than we thought we had been.. a real shocker.

Global warming has reduced snowfall in Canada. I remember as a kid mountains for months. Now we barely get a dusting. The temperature hovering around 0 degree Celsius.
It used to be that temperatures would sometimes fall to -30 for an entire week.

Snow clearing is very good here....heavy soled boots will suffice. Some people wear slip-on spikes, for the ice.

Nature/Nurture.
Past manifesting presence - presence is either cultivated to attain its inherited genetic potentials, as these have been determined in the past, or left to atrophy, cultivating only a small percentage.

What a huge drop in temperature.. same here too though, and we get virtually no snow in the greenhoused large cities, where the micro-climates keep the snow clouds away.. due to citadel heat, quarter-hourly air flights, etc. etc. etc. The more rural cities and land masses receive snow a-plenty still though, so they still get to make snowmen and snow angels.

Can you believe that the younger generations have no idea of all this, and are astounded when told that London used to be a real snow-stopper. What do their parents and grandparents talk to them about.. if at all? What are they being taught in school.. apart from how to become a very good Socialist.

Though.. due to lockdown resetting nature, if it does get minus very-cold here, I’m fully prepared.. thanks to my snow(boarding) gear.

Lol. Quite a surreal locale.. the best kind, I think.. all magical-looking and utterly atmospheric.

I’ve got my eye on the Northern Himalayas or the French/Swiss Alps juncture.. both looking much more similar to each other than I’d ever have thought. I can trace some of my mother’s South-Asian genealogy back to the former, as there was genetic ad-mixing along the Indian/Himalayan border, millennia ago, when Tribes were few and far between.

That’s a whole lotta isolation going on there, so escapism.. by the powers of the internet, would be much-needed under that circumstance.

Months of early twilights, perpetual dawns.. or are they dusks? weeks of non-stop daylight.. perhaps more urban than rural, so suburban?
