This thread is a wake-up call for the members of this forum.
When we first begin our adventure into philosophy, we are like newborns; gazing in wonder at all the riches, which lay before our eyes. In time, we go through periods, where we stagnate, become distracted by mundane things. Sometimes, we just need to have a cold-bucket of "wake the fuck up" poured on our heads, in order to get us back on the right track.
I mentioned about a month ago that I thought too much philosophizing was unhealthy. Too much of anything is unhealthy, but I could have articulated my point differently. The problem lied in a false dichotomy between a rather myopic definition of masculinity and intellectualism. Philosophers are not un-masculine; they sublimate their warrior energies into the noetic.
That's a good way for a young male philosopher to view himself; a warrior of the mind, a warrior of the unknown.
I remember Lys in a PM wrote that I should not focus on how the Vikings of the past were merciless, how they pillaged and plundered material objects; rather, that I should pillage and plunder ideas, information. " The empire of knowledge lies ahead, waiting ", she said.
With this in mind, my philosophical endeavors will be infused with nitrous oxide.
It's not that I was ever lukewarm about philosophy, it's just that mundane life can get in the way and distract one from their philosophical mission.
How are you guys doing in your pursuit of knowledge? Have you stagnated, or do you continue to accelerate?
And don't forget what we are; we are warriors of the mind!
This forum is an oasis in a desert of modern decadence and filth.
Yes, we goof off sometimes, get involved in drama, etc, etc; but, ultimately, what we do here is righteous. We are lions among men, nay, among sheep. The world is replete with a bunch of shallow good-for-nothings. We stand out amidst the masses. They are the blackness of emptiness; we are the shining stars, radiating cosmic energy through the blackness. Though the blackness out-quantifies us and surrounds us, we out-qualify it with our stellar luminescence.
We should feel proud and have every reason to.
It's imperative to remember that we are in a war, a war like no other. It's a war to conquer your mind and spirit, your past and tradition.
The spirit of stupification, shallowfication, and abject hedonism predominate. Let's use every ounce of our force to make something of ourselves, to enrich ourselves, and to stick our middle-fingers up to the status quo.
We may not have as many members, as there are over on ILP;
but the quality of our members supersedes the quantity of their members.
Less is more; more is less.
Quality over quantity.
For those, who are hardcore about knowledge, raise your hands and let me know.
I'm thinking about starting a group study, which will consist of us researching a chosen topic and reporting back to each other on what we have learned/discovered.
Let's not waste any more time on banal things; the empire of knowledge lies ahead.

"Express yourself exactly as who and what you are - and face the consequences." - Satyr
That was originally the motto I made up for the forum when it was founded, used to be where Nothing in Excess is now, beneath the forum banner. It still shows up on google for some reason.

Well the idea behind that motto was to ensure that people participating here were not protected from the consequences of their actions by mod intervention. That was mostly it. You interact with others and come to know the self through that interaction. You learn about yourself through others. I'm not interested in being a mentor. I'm here to learn, always have been.
Have you learned anything in your time here?

You don't have to be my mentor, Apaosha.
But I would appreciate it, if you could share valuable information with me about whatever you read or produce from your own mind.
Think of yourself as a comrade, as opposed to a mentor.

View this video through the lens of your own philosophical endeavors.
When great minds come together and are hell-bent upon achieving a goal, nothing can get in their way.
Guys, even though we live in an age of mass decadence and degeneracy, we are still living in a great time;
we have access to this amazing technology ( internet/computer ) which allows us to learn about anything, at the click of a mouse!
Imagine how all the great minds of the past would feel, if they knew about the technology we have.
They would envy us!
Back in the Dark-Ages, knowledge was pure gold; there were monasteries dedicated to preserving it.
Knowledge is sacred.
And we have access to it, all of it, right within our computers!
Let's stop pussyfooting around and get intense, more intense than ever!
Knowing thyself is a beautiful thing; it's mystical.
We become more like the gods with every bit of knowledge we add to our arsenal.
Philosophy is our religion; knowledge is our God.
Let's become one with this god, no, let's become God!

I ask have you learned anything because I don't think you have.
I remember you were into Redbeard, then you were a christian for a little while, then you shacked up with Joker as an anarchist. When you came back from that you were trying to get attention with Lyssa by exposing her identity and with Satyr by threatening his son.... now you want to fit in here.
What you're showing me here is not something healthy. This constant ping-ponging from one thing to another just shows me that you are completely lost. You need to take a long hard look at yourself and sort out whatever the fuck is wrong with you.

Well, Apaosha, I admit I'm not a perfect person; I have a lot of issues.
For the most part, I'm a level-headed person; It's rare that I snap on someone. But when I do get angry, I get very angry.
What I said about Satyr and his son was very wrong and I wish I could go back in time and change what I did, but I can't; I have to live with the shame of what I did. They were all empty threats; I would never hurt his son, nor even Satyr.
The whole Christian thing was just a result of my weakness; Death ( the whole cancer thing ) knocked me off my ass and I wasn't strong enough to hold onto my principles. I deluded myself into the whole Jesus and God thing, because I was afraid.
I know I talk about warrior philosophy, but I acknowledge that I feel fear. I've recently had another near death experience, but this time, I was more prepared and didn't resort to cowardly coping mechanisms.
I'm young, Apaosha, and I'm evolving.
I've learned my lesson, matured a lot, and am ready to blast open the gates of the empire of knowledge.
What I mean is that my stride is variable and therefore length and speed incalulable, but where it concerts with the stride of others then we'll see what happens.
Btw, he's taking advantage of your looks.

What more can you guys do? Are you putting in your best efforts to enlighten yourselves and combat the disease that is modernity? Are you willing to die for this cause of ours, or are you merely lukewarm?
Wake up!

Erik, I think Brian has a place in his van for you. He wants to start his own travelling side-show of exhibitionists, and arrogant pretenders. You'll go from parking lot to parking lot jerking off, declaring your superiority, and how philosophy has been surpassed by you, now that you know it all, and its all about word games.
I will not be hurt if you join him.

Spreading submission and submissiveness by the sword is not masculinity, just as getting someone to kneel and winning over them with a gun to their head is hardly a definition of valour.
Spiritual Jihad is an oxymoron.
Know Thyself is not a poster for camel junkies and its off-spring of ISIS enthusiasts.
We are fighting a memetic disease, which has physical symptoms.
If you are unwilling to take up the sword, then what does that say about your commitment to the spirit of nobility?
Our cause is to do as much as possible to assert our philosophy unto the world, or else the enemy will continue to do that to us.
Yes, we combat this disease with spreading knowledge; but we must also be willing to do more, much more.
'"Paradise lies in the shadow of swords" – also a symbol and motto by which souls of noble and warlike origin betray themselves and divine each other.'
– Nietzsche

Was it not Satyr who analyses the world greatly and shared this perspective with others, having philosophy upon which many who are potent can build or consider and behold for themselves. ''Our''? - yet you are aware to the little extent due to Satyr and now you claim to surpass?

I'm not claiming to surpass anybody; I'm just aware of how many more things we could do to impose our ideology unto the world.

Do you understand a single thing what is discussed on KT? If you impose, then you include all of humanity, then the Noble automaticcaly will be polluted by enforced all-inclusivity; beside, it sounds like an infantile boy's dream playing with Lego to think you have power at all.

"Mohammedanism in turn learned from Christianity: the employment of the "beyond" as an instrument of punishment." [WTP, 143]
Nietzsche wrote:
"As soon as these two means of comfort, that of Plato and that of Mohammed, have fallen away and no thinker can relieve his conscience with the hypothesis of a "god" or "eternal values," the elaim of the legislator of new values rises to a new fearfulness never yet attained.
From then on, those elect on whom the suspicion of having such a duty begins to dawn, try to see if they cannot, "at the right moment," elude it, as their greatest danger, through some kind of detour; for example, by convincing themselves that the task has already been accomplished, or cannot be accomplished, or that their shoulders are not strong enough for such burdens, or that they are already overburdened with other, more immediate tasks, or that even this new, distant duty is a seduction and temptation, drawing them away from all other duties, a sickness, a kind of madness.
Many may indeed succeed in eluding it: history is full of the traces of men who have eluded this task, and of their bad consciences. Usually, however, there came to these men of fate that redeeming hour, that autumnal hour of ripeness, in which they had to do what they did not even "want" to do-and the deed of which they had hitherto been most afraid fell easily and unsought from the tree, as an involuntary deed, almost as a gift.-" [WTP, 972]
The true warrior cares not for the promise of any paradise, and certainly does not fight for one.
The Sword is a Pen and the Pen a Body and the Body a Personality. The cause is never impersonalized and then must be an effect Can a cause share an effect or is the caller actually just afraid to cut and write and mold and express itself, and then has to shame and impose the listener into cutting, and the rest, in the image not of itself.
