The US has won no war. It has only gotten involved in "police actions" or small conflicts with inferior adversaries.

Every "police action" the US got involved in was characterized by an indiscriminate destruction of a people and a nation's infrastructure.
They bombed them for months and then sent in clean up forces that experienced minimal resistance.
In Afghanistan this was evident since it has no infrastructure and no large urban areas to level down and kill the adversary in large quantities.
This was also the issue in Vietnam with china imposing a no-fly zone over North Vietnam.
America, after WWII has not fought a 'real war' and when it has, - Korea, Vietnam - it has lost on reached a stalemate. And, it never went to war on its own.

It may have technologies, two large oceans protecting it, and some well-trained, well-equiped special forces, but not much else.
The US could never fight a war like the Russians are doing.
