In the past days, multiple news agencies have been deliberately pushing a false narrative in order to justify the most recent Israeli murder of Palestinians, including civilians and children.

This deliberately falsified narrative surrounds a purported Hamas broadcast that declared an end to the ceasefire that was declared post-Cast Lead in 2009, the operation in which Israel systematically slaughtered Palestinian civilians.

Amnesty International characterized Operation Cast Lead as “22 Days of Death and Destruction” and Hamas is more than aware of the fact that Israel would relish the ability to conduct another operation in the same vein.



While Hamas militants have not taken responsibility for any of the rocket attacks and have, in fact, been arresting suspected militants, Reuters published that, “A Hamas radio station announced the group’s armed wing had decided 'there is no longer any truce with the enemy,' alluding to a 2009 deal that ended a three week Israeli offensive targeting militants firing rockets at the Jewish state.”

When they acknowledge the fact that an official spokesperson for the Qassam brigades, the military arm of Hamas, completely denied Hamas support for this statement they spin it by characterizing the official statement as “an apparent attempt to ease tensions later”.

Apparently a broadcast on a purported Hamas station is a completely reliable and authoritative source, even when it is directly contradicted by the official party leadership.

This caliber of “journalism” from Reuters is appalling, especially given their status as a supposedly balanced news service.

Not surprisingly, the Jerusalem Post didn’t even bother publishing all of the facts and instead opted for publishing only that which justifies their aggression.

The Jerusalem Post reports, “Hamas announced early on Saturday they were no longer committed to a more than two-year de facto truce with Israel since the end of a war in early 2009.

The statement was broadcast over a Hamas radio station in Gaza after Israel pounded the Strip for two days with air strikes in response to rocket fire and terror attacks on Thursday that killed eight people.

“There is no longer any truce with the enemy,” the statement said in a move seen as paving the way for Hamas to escalate the violence with Israel.”

It is interesting how these news outlets choose to make a wide range of suppositions based upon nothing other than their preconceived notions.

These so-called journalists seem to think themselves experts on everything from the legitimacy of a radio broadcast over an official statement to the intentions behind such a statement regardless of the complete lack of validity to drawing conclusions based on illegitimate statements.

Israel Radio reports that since Thursday afternoon 35 rockets have landed in Israel.

It is not clear if this includes the occupied territories (which are no more Israel than your house is my backyard) and the Jerusalem Post article manages to mention the attack that killed eight yesterday twice in the brief article.

The number of Palestinians killed in the past 24 hours alone dwarfs the Israeli deaths, although I am by no means trying to minimize the sadness of any loss of life.

Unlike the Jerusalem Post reporter, I consider the death of any human being to be a tragedy. Therefore, one must take note of the fact that at least 15 Palestinians were murdered in the past day alone, not to mention another 30 injured in the Gaza Strip by Israeli airstrikes.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not try to conceal the fact that they are disproportionally slaughtering Palestinians and will continue to do so.

The level of brazenness with which Netanyahu speaks of slaughtering innocent people should make any human being sick to their stomach.

Reuters reports that he said, “We have a policy of exacting a very heavy price of anyone who attacks us and this policy is being implemented,” when he visited wounded Israelis on Friday.

While the Jerusalem Post and Reuters seem to be trying to project the false notion that Hamas is behind and in support of the rocket attacks and recent terrorist strike, the reality of the situation is a bit different.

As I reported yesterday, the Popular Resistance Committee, or PRC, was initially blamed for the attack that resulted in the death of eight Israelis near the Eilat resort near the Red Sea.

However, the PRC adamantly denied any involvement in the ambushes while claiming responsibility for some of the rocket attacks on Friday.

Currently, I do not think it is unreasonable to posit that Thursday’s attack could very well be a false flag which has already been used to justify renewed bombing runs.

In the coming days I am going to write an in-depth analysis of the increasing tensions between Egypt and Israel, including the multiple instances of Israeli spying and what appears to be a large-scale effort to sterilize the Egyptian population.

Egypt has been visibly angered by the murder of Egyptians at the hands of Israel in the wake of Thursday’s attacks and Israel has accused Egypt’s new military dictatorship of losing control of the Sinai Peninsula.

Egypt has reported that one army officer and two security officials were killed on the Egyptian side of the Israel-Egyptian border but have not given lucid details on how they were murdered.

The Israeli Defense Force alleged that there was a firefight between IDF troops and “militants” along the Israeli-Egyptian border and has claimed in an official statement that they “will investigate the matter thoroughly and update the Egyptians.”

Not surprisingly, the United States Department of State has only condemned the possible false flag attack on Israel while remaining silent on the disproportionate murder of Palestinians and the killing of Egyptians.

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, a notoriously conservative organization, has stated that Venezuela has world’s largest oil reserves, even exceeding those of OPEC’s top producer, Saudi Arabia.

Petroleum Intelligence Weekly lists PDVSA as the world's fourth largest oil company, due to its proven reserves, production, refining and sales, MercoPress news agency reported.


PDVSA has recently been roiled by a pension scandal where millions were lost when they were invested in a Madoff-type Ponzi scheme overseen by Francisco Illarramendi, a Connecticut-based hedge fund manager with joint U.S.-Venezuelan citizenship, who used to work as a U.S.-based advisor to PDVSA.

PDVSA revenues underwrite many of the progressive social programs of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Concerned about the ongoing effects of the global recession on the national economy, on Wednesday President Chavez said that he would repatriate $11 billion in gold reserves held in overseas banks and diversify the nation’s fiscal reserves away from Western nations and into emerging economies like China, Russia and Brazil.

Venezuela’s gold reserves of $18.3 billion represent two-thirds of the country’s total reserves, with $11.1 billion currently held in foreign banks and the remaining $7.2 billion residing in Venezuela’s Central Bank.

Germany wants to censor Facebook.


The privacy commissioner for the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein, Thilo Weichert, announced on Friday, August 19, that he would go after private and public sites featuring Facebook's "like" button, which allows web users to rate the websites they encounter.



Weichert argues that this popular function breaches privacy by making it possible for the social networking giant to guess user preferences and opinions by compiling a profile of all the sites marked on one computer.



Weichert's office, which operates independently of Schleswig-Holstein's state government, has long advised webmasters "informally that many Facebook offerings are illegal," according to Weichert. "Unfortunately, up to now, this has prevented few providers from using the offerings," he said.



The data protection agency could slam websites operating in Schleswig-Holstein with up to 50,000 euros ($72,000) if they continue to use the "like" button or manage fan pages on Facebook's website after the end of September.

Intense discussions



The announcement came as a surprise to the state government. Schleswig-Holstein State Secretary Arne Wulff pledged to discuss the matter "intensely" with his counterparts from Germany's other federal states.



"Political communication these days also takes place on the Internet," Wulff said, emphasizing that the state's government and even German Chancellor Angela Merkel used Facebook to encourage political involvement from the public.



Facebook, meanwhile, flatly rejected Weichert's claim that it breaches privacy law. The company said it does receive technical data that could be used to identify each user computer - but that it deletes this information within 90 days in compliance with European Union law.



Facebook is the world's biggest social networking website with some 750 million registered users. "Like" votes help the company sell advertisement and allow third-party websites to tell who is accessing their pages.

FBI organizes almost all terror plots in the US



The Federal Bureau of Investigation employs upwards of 15,000 undercover agents today, ten times what they had on the roster back in 1975.

If you think that’s a few spies too many — spies earning as much as $100,000 per assignment — one doesn’t have to go too deep into their track record to see their accomplishments. Those agents are responsible for an overwhelming amount of terrorist stings that have stopped major domestic catastrophes in the vein of 9/11 from happening on American soil.

Another thing those agents are responsible for, however, is plotting those very schemes.

The FBI has in recent years used trained informants not just to snitch on suspected terrorists, but to set them up from the get-go. A recent report put together by Mother Jones and the Investigative Reporting Program at the University of California-Berkley analyses some striking statistics about the role of FBI informants in terrorism cases that the Bureau has targeted in the decade since the September 11 attacks.

The report reveals that the FBI regularly infiltrates communities where they suspect terrorist-minded individuals to be engaging with others. Regardless of their intentions, agents are sent in to converse within the community, find suspects that could potentially carry out “lone wolf” attacks and then, more or less, encourage them to do so. By providing weaponry, funds and a plan, FBI-directed agents will encourage otherwise-unwilling participants to plot out terrorist attacks, only to bust them before any events fully materialize.

Additionally, one former high-level FBI officials speaking to Mother Jones says that, for every informant officially employed by the bureau, up to three unofficial agents are working undercover.

The FBI has used those informants to set-up and thus shut-down several of the more high profile would-be attacks in recent years. The report reveals that the Washington DC Metro bombing plot, the New York City subway plot, the attempt to blow up Chicago’s Sears Tower and dozens more were all orchestrated by FBI agents. In fact, reads the report, only three of the more well-known terror plots of the last decade weren’t orchestrated by FBI-involved agents.

The report reveals that in many of the stings, important meetings between informants and the unknowing participants are left purposely unrecorded, as to avoid any entrapment charges that could cause the case to be dismissed. Perhaps the most high-profile of the FBI-proposed plots was the case of the Newburgh 4. Around an hour outside of New York City, an informant infiltrated a Muslim community and engaged four local men to carry out a series of attacks. Those men may have never actually carried out an attack, but once the informant offered them a plot and a pair of missiles, they agreed. Defense attorneys cried “entrapment,” but the men still were sentenced to 25 years apiece.

"The problem with the cases we're talking about is that defendants would not have done anything if not kicked in the ass by government agents," Martin Stolar tells Mother Jones. Stolar represented the suspect involved in a New York City bombing plot that was set-up by FBI agents. "They're creating crimes to solve crimes so they can claim a victory in the war on terror." For their part, the FBI says this method is a plan for "preemption," "prevention" and "disruption."


The report also reveals that, of the 500-plus prosecutions of terrorism-related cases they analyzed, nearly half of them involved the use of informants, many of whom worked for the FBI in exchange for money or to work off criminal charges. Of the 158 prosecutions carried out, 49 defendants participated in plots that agent provocateurs arranged on behalf of the FBI.


Experts note that the chance of winning a terrorism-related trial, entrapment or not, is near impossible. "The plots people are accused of being part of — attacking subway systems or trying to bomb a building — are so frightening that they can overwhelm a jury," David Cole, a Georgetown University law professor, tells Mother Jones. Since 9/11, almost two-thirds of the cases linked to terrorism have ended with guilty pleas. “They don't say, 'I've been entrapped,' or, 'I was immature,’” a retired FBI official remarks.


All of this and those guilty pleas often stem for just being in the right place at the wrong time. Farhana Khera of the group Muslim Advocate notes that agents go into mosques on “fishing expeditions” just to see where they can get interest in the community. "The FBI is now telling agents they can go into houses of worship without probable cause," says Khera. "That raises serious constitutional issues."


From the set-up to the big finish, the whole sting operation is ripe with constitutional issues such as that. A decade since 9/11, however, the FBI is reaching through whatever means it can pull together to keep terrorists — or whom they think could someday become one — from ever hurting America.

Even the mainstream media is now admitting “waves of disinformation” in Libya



Recently I covered the constant disinformation published by a Syrian “journalist” and editor of the American-funded anti-Syrian propaganda network out of London, England, Barada TV. This blatant (and admitted) politicized disinformation was just the beginning.

Thankfully, the mainstream media can no longer pretend that they are getting reliable information from their “sources” and are now being forced to address this, all too late in my opinion.

Hopefully this revelation of politicized disinformation’s role in the so-called “Arab Spring” will temper some of the sensationalist reports of civilian murders carried out by Middle Eastern governments that are totally unconfirmed and come solely from “activist” groups.



I sincerely hope that journalists around the globe can learn something from running with unconfirmed reports coming from a single side of a political conflict.

Of course, the New York Times article entitled “Waves of Disinformation and Confusion Swamp the Truth in Libya” focuses mostly on the disinformation promoted by Gaddafi and those loyal to him, instead of the blatant lies pushed by rebel forces and promoted by U.S. agents like Malik Al-Abdeh and other “journalists” with ulterior motives.

Most of the claims coming from the rebel forces have been proven totally false.

Muammar Gaddafi was not killed, nor was he captured, nor was he ever en route to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Saif al-Islam Muammar al-Gaddafi, Gaddafi’s second son, was never en route to the ICC, which was even claimed by ICC officials themselves.

As Tony Cartalucci pointed out, the ICC has actually claimed that they never confirmed that Saif al-Islam was in custody.

In fact, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, an ICC prosecutor, confirmed this to the Telegraph, but Reuters is now laughably asserting that no such claim was ever made.

Cartalucci aptly sums up this massive confusion and disinformation among the media in one sentence, “ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo should resign, so should editors at both the Telegraph and Reuters and a myriad of other media agencies complicit in spreading this willful and malicious propaganda.” I couldn’t agree more.

There is an escalation of the psychological warfare techniques being used by the rebels and the mainstream media in order to give the appearance of a rebel victory in Libya.

Malik Al-Abdeh attempted to justify these lies by saying that they were only lying in order to encourage the defection of loyalist forces, and I am sure we can see similar attempts at damage control from the mainstream Western media as well.

Hilariously, the New York Times actually blames the lies of the rebels on Gaddafi. They claim that they are pumping out disinformation because “he is the only leader they ever knew.”

Apparently the rebels could never be responsible for their own actions as it all falls on the shoulders of Gaddafi, no matter how farfetched such a notion might be in the mind of any rational human being.

The New York Times claims that the completely falsified reports of the capture of Saif al-Islam are, “A case in point” without managing to elucidate how this is at all based on Gaddafi’s “vision, and version, of reality.” Instead they just leave that statement without any explanation, likely hoping that the reader will take it at face value, regardless of the complete lack of all rationale behind it.

The Telegraph, the above mentioned London newspaper that published the illegitimate claims made by the ICC prosecutor and the rebels, is quoted in the New York Times article attempting to mitigate the fallout from their discredited reporting that has irreparably scarred the so-called news agency.

Rob Crilly attempts, and fails, to do this by writing, “It’s a timely reminder that Twitter, 24-hour rolling news channels and satphones are still useless against the fog of war”.

Apparently, thorough fact-checking and proper reporting is still useless as well, or at least it is out of the realm of possibility for the Telegraph to actually check out the claims being made and the legitimacy of the sources making them.

The article also mentions the disinformation being published heavily in the early days of the brutal NATO assault on civilians in Libya as seemingly “intended to reassure queasy domestic audiences that a quick victory was possible.”

Unfortunately for the NYT and other mainstream news outlets publishing these lies, few people in the world could toss aside their knowledge of recent history and the colonial-imperialist wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in order to buy these claims.

Echoing the statements coming from George W. Bush years ago in which he essentially said that he no longer cared about Osama bin Laden and that he was no longer important, NATO spokesman Colonel Roland Lavoie said, “I’m not sure [Gaddafi’s whereabouts] really [do] matter.”

The NYT article also mentions that, regardless of the complete absence of proof, the ICC is pursuing an investigation of the allegations made by rebel forces that loyalist troops were issued Viagra in order to carry out systematic rape of Libyans.

Interestingly, the most accurate facts of the situation are presented in the last four paragraphs of the article on the second page. This is likely because most readers do not have the time or patience to make it that far.

In one of the last articles they mention the racist claims coming from the rebels (which they characterize as having “racist overtones” which is laughable, at best) that Gaddafi has been using African mercenaries in his resistance of the uprising.

I must point out that when the mainstream media says “African” they mean black. This is obviously an attempt to be politically correct, but it is also massively inaccurate seeing as literally every single Libyan is African, given that is an African nation.

The NYT accurately points out that although there have supposedly been African prisoners of war captured by the rebel forces, journalists have never been allowed to see them.

Like I have pointed out in the past, the NYT correctly identifies the fact that there are black guest workers, mostly Chadian, who have come to Libya in search of poorly paid jobs as migrant laborers which are being inaccurately labeled as mercenaries. Tragically, many of these innocent migrant workers have been killed and arrested simply for being black.

I sincerely hope that we can see some accurate information emerge from either side of this conflict, as I am getting more distrustful and disillusioned by the day, as I’m sure many readers are as well.

Yesterday, the Dow was up more than 300 points, and gold hit another all-time high before dropping nearly $100 an ounce. You would think the stock market was back and the gold trade was over. Wall Street is excited about recent bad economic news that just may force Fed Chief Ben Bernanke to start a third round of quantitative easing (QE3). I hate to break it to Wall Street, but QE3 is already underway in the form of 2 years of guaranteed near 0% interest rates.

That’s the close up of the economy. The wide shot reveals something much more profound and dangerous for anyone who does not know which direction the giant economic cruise ship is turning.



The problem the world faces today is crushing debt. In America, it is at the local, state and federal level. On top of that, there have been many promises made in the form of retirement and health care. In Europe, the same thing, except there the problem is more immediate and dire. The fate of the European Union hangs in the balance.

There has never been a time in history when debt problems globally have been this monstrous. At the beginning of the year, I quoted 87 year old Harry Schultz. He is now retired but is widely respected for his economic and market calls. In his last newsletter, Schultz summed up the calamity we face by saying, “Roughly speaking, the mess we are in is the worst since 17th century financial collapse. Comparisons with the 1930s are ludicrous. We’ve gone far beyond that. David Knox Barker, who wrote “Jubilee on Wall Street: An Optimistic Look at the Global Financial Crash,” echoes Schultz. Enormous problems will usher in equally enormous changes. Barker said this week, “The final plunge of this long wave winter season is now underway. The international political economy, which has lost its moorings in individual accountability, responsibility and purpose, is breaking up. Socialism in all its forms, including the global banking system that is dependent on the government dole, is collapsing from the weight of its internal contradictions. Calls for NATO Occupation of Libya Deafening



It was reported that Richard Haas, president of the Fortune 500-lined Council on Foreign Relations, had stated clearly that "Libya now needs boots on the ground," NATO boots to be specific. Now joining the growing chorus of globalists calling for a full NATO occupation of Libya is Neo-Con degenerate, fellow Council on Foreign Relations conspirator Max Boot who recently wrote an editorial for the LA Times titled, "Libya's problems are far from over," where he emphatically states "peacekeeping troops" are an absolute necessity to head off what the media is already trying to brand an "insurgency" referring to the Libyan government's defense of Tripoli.

To compound Boot's apparent contempt for his readership's intelligence, he claims that occupation forces will be needed to secure Libya's "weapons of mass destruction," and give the Libyan rebels time to build up professional security forces -- rebels who are admitted members of Al Qaeda, many of whom are fresh back from murdering American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Boot's only regret regarding the disastrous and still failing US occupation of Iraq was that more troops were not committed, seemingly suggesting Libya will be "done right" and a massive force will be landed to ensure the nation progresses as Wall Street and London desire.

Boot's final insult to our intelligence is the claim that NATO currently appears to be refusing to commit to any such occupation force. In reality, NATO's denials of such an occupation force are for perception-management purposes only. NATO troops are already on the ground, including SAS special forces, Qatari funded British mercenaries, Qatari and Emarati troops, and MI6 and CIA operatives. The UK has already admitted to having prepared at least 200 more troops to land in Libya at any given moment and arrangements are already underway to tap NATO members for additional troop commitments.

The only complication for Boot and his degenerate co-conspirator Haas' narrative is that Tripoli has not yet fallen. The rebels, even with NATO ground forces assisting them, are approaching now a full week of fighting to take the capital in operations that promised to be over "in hours not days." The mainstream media has been perpetually assuring its dimwitted viewership that Tripoli is "virtually," "almost," "about to be," "on the brink of," "any moment," falling into rebel hands. As rebels rush from one hallow photo opportunity to the other in an attempt to sell their "victory" to the world, the Libyan military forces have been hitting them from the southern situated Rixos Hotel, to the international airport in the far east of Tripoli. Quite clearly the capital is still contested, while other cities across Libya still remain firmly in government hands.

While Boot, Haas, and the degenerate bankster-serving media propagandists assume the public has bought the narrative that Libya is now a "NATO victory" and the occupation force will merely be a prudent conclusion to their operations to "ensure stability," the reality is that Qaddafi and the Libyan army cannot be defeated by the rebel forces alone. By rushing the rebels' contrived government from Benghazi to Tripoli, declaring them the victors in the capital amidst a historically unprecedented disinformation campaign, and now beginning to portray the Libyan army as "insurgents," they are in fact setting the stage for a ground invasion -- not occupation -- to deal the Libyan military a death blow.

It is now confirmed that the ground operations against Tripoli that started last weekend were overwhelmingly a psychological operation attempting to belie NATO's weakness. Outrageous propaganda and staged chaos following an unprecedented aerial bombardment by NATO was designed to panic and collapse entirely Tripoli's defenses and utterly rout Libyan troops. Instead, troops weathered the chaos and as it ebbed, counterattacked with Qaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam leading the way. Saif had been "confirmed captured" by the Wall Street-London "International Criminal Court." This is now exposed as obvious disinformation and the epitome of the sort of lies and propaganda employed by NATO in their desperate last-ditch bid to take Libya.

It should be noted, that Max Boot was one of the many Neo-Con warmonger, corporate fascist globalist stooges that signed a June 2011 letter addressed to US House Republicans imploring them to ignore both the will of the American people and the contrived UN mandate in order to lend the rebels "more assistance." Fellow signatories including William Kristol have been promoting a ground invasion and the forceful removal of Qaddafi from power since the beginning of NATO operations, making an open mockery of the very "international laws" Kristol and others presume the US should be enforcing upon the world.

In war, when one relies on disinformation on the scale seen now used by NATO in Libya, it betrays their image of strength and the vitality of their campaign. If NATO and the rebels were truly as powerful and as capable as we are being told, there would be absolutely no need to obfuscate the facts on the ground in Libya to the extent that it is. Indeed, NATO's latest attack on Tripoli was an absolute bluff which has been called by the Libyan people now in full resistance. The continued lies being peddled now by the media indicate a smokescreen being set up to give the rebel "government" enough time to squat in Tripoli and call in NATO troops.

The very fact that Libya's rebels are still meeting in Paris and Doha to complete their "transition" instead of in Tripoli exposes how ignominiously deceptive news of their "victory" is. Qaddafi has vowed to fight on for years - and seeing how he has been the only one telling the truth from the beginning, be it the fact that the rebels are Al Qaeda terrorists or that the rebels were paving the way for an inevitable Western occupation - we would be wise to believe him rather than the infinitely duplicitous Western media - who promised us "no boots on the ground" for an operation that was promised to end months ago.

Japanese government moves to monitor online discussions about Fukushima

While the government defends its new monitoring program of online postings concerning the accident at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant to stem the spread of "inaccurate" information, critics say it harkens back to Big Brother.

The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy said tweets on Twitter and postings to blogs will be monitored for groundless and inaccurate information that could inflame and mislead the public.

The agency said it is trying to "track down inaccurate information and to provide correct ones instead."


But critics are skeptical about the agency's motive, especially because the government has been under fire for failing to provide an accurate picture of what has been occurring at the plant and the spread of radioactive contamination.

The cost for the project was earmarked in an extra government budget to finance the rebuilding of northeastern Japan ravaged by the March 11 disaster.

The agency announced details of the monitoring project in late June when it solicited bids.

An advertising company in Tokyo won the contract, which is estimated at 70 million yen ($913,000).

BEIJING (AFP) - China's state news agency accused the United States Thursday of "exaggerating" the threat posed by its military, after a report said the Asian nation was expanding its maritime power.

The US defence department said in its annual report to Congress that China was increasingly focused on naval power and had invested in hi-tech weaponry that would extend its reach in the Pacific and beyond.

Xinhua said many people in China found it "weird" that the United States, which spends far more on its military than any other country in the world, should highlight Chinese expenditure.


"The report... exaggerated the threat incurred by China's military development in 2010 to the Asia-Pacific region," Xinhua said in a commentary.

"For many in China, it is weird that the Pentagon, whose expenditures reached nearly $700 billion and accounted for over an appalling 40 percent of the world's total in 2010, routinely points its finger at China."

China's People's Liberation Army -- the largest armed force in the world -- is extremely secretive about its defence programmes, which benefit from a huge and expanding military budget boosted by the nation's runaway economic growth.

Beijing announced earlier this year that military spending would rise to 601.1 billion yuan ($91.7 billion) in 2011 and also said it was developing its first stealth fighter jet.

The weapons buildup comes as the Asian economic giant places a growing emphasis on securing strategic shipping lanes and mineral-rich areas in the South China Sea.

Beijing claims sovereign rights to almost all of the South China Sea, although several Southeast Asian countries have competing claims.

Tensions flared this year after the Philippines and Vietnam accused China of becoming increasingly aggressive.

The Pentagon report, released on Wednesday, also renewed US warnings that China was extending its military edge over Taiwan, citing better artillery that could strike targets within or even across the Taiwan Strait.

China considers Taiwan, where the mainland's defeated nationalists fled in 1949, to be a province awaiting reunification, by force if necessary, and Xinhua said the report amounted to "interfering".

"The 94-page report, as usual, interferes with the internal issue of China by making wilful comments on the situation across Taiwan Straits," it said.

Xinhua also accused the Pentagon of "overlooking the country's peaceful defence policy" in its report.

"The Pentagon report, submitted to the Congress by the Pentagon annually pursuant to a US law since 2000, has drawn protest from China over its interfering nature, distortion of facts and baseless speculations," it said.

The dispute over Taiwan, including US arms sales to Taipei, has remained a stumbling block to Washington's attempts at promoting a security dialogue with the Chinese military.

However, Xinhua said relations between the US and Chinese militaries had improved over the past year.

It cited a visit to China last month by US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mike Mullen, America's top military official. Mullen's Chinese counterpart Chen Bingde visited the United States in May.

The Council on Foreign Relations and the Peterson Foundation has for years been working on plans to terminate Social Security and Medicare. Cuts in these paid for programs were impossible to get through Congress. Thus, the ruse was born of getting around Congress.

A flash issue was raised regarding a short-term debt extension that could have been passed in 15 minutes that demanded budget cuts for passage. In that process the Obama Enabling Act was formulated, patterned on the German Enabling Act passed in 1933 by Adolph Hitler. It allows a 12-person panel to bypass Congress regarding legislation. The changes are made in this committee and cannot be debated or amended and must be voted on via a straight up and down majority vote. While this was transpiring, as part of the plot, Standard and Poor’s downgraded the US debt rating based upon there not being large enough cuts in what Congress likes to call entitlements, which are not entitlements, but paid for benefits. The reason for the cuts is that both benefits trusts are broke, all the funds having been spent on other things over the years. S&P said that if major cuts are not made that they would cut the US debt rating again in November. Thus, you can understand the framework and what the elitists have paid the committee and Congress to do. The committee takes all the heat upon passage and Congress generally gets off the hook.


Needless to say, the controlled mainstream media reports on none of this. That a chained CPI is to be employed - is little discussed. The cost of living adjustment, or COLA, changes as CPI changes. The problem is the CPI, currently up 3.6%, is a bogus statistic. Real inflation based on the 1980 model is up 11.2%. As you probably remember there has been no COLA upward adjustments for two years and another is being considered this month for next year. It will be interesting to see what they come up with – probably no change. The COLA based on CPI isn’t bad enough now they want to chain-weight it. These changes won’t take place for a few months so there is time for Americans to complain to all of the members of the House and Senate regarding this rape of both benefits that they have paid for. If Congress wants to cut they can cut the military budget. What the powers behind government want to do is make the nations elderly; they call them useless eaters, carry the burden, and force them to live like animals.

This chained CPI will increase even less than the bogus CPI, or some 0.3% less on average than the CPI-W, or the Consumer Price Index for urban wageworkers, and clerical workers, which is what COLA really is. As you can see retired Americans have been cheated by government for years and now they want to cheat them even more leaving many of the elderly destitute in order to finance more wars. Looting Social Security provides revenue to be wasted elsewhere.

Politicians believe their constituents won’t know what they are up too, but they are mistaken. Many of them will be kicked out of Congress for betraying the elderly of benefits that they paid for over a lifetime of work. The cuts would cost retirees $100 billion and S&P wants even further cuts. This is going to put seniors into poverty, especially the disabled. The proposal would cut more at 9.5%, almost 10%, versus 4% at 75. These politicians are calculated to bring early death to the aging. As this travesty takes place, Medicare benefits would be reduced by another $100 billion. In 2014, we will have the Obama death panels, where a panel will decide who will be treated and who will be allowed to die. Soylent Green comes to mind, this travesty, planned by elitists to transfer funds and get rid of useless eaters, was fully aided by America’s controlled media, which misled all readers and listeners. The program was formulated the by ex-president of the Council on Foreign Relation’s billionaire Pete Peterson who lied about the entire program. The chained CPI is a scam just as the CPI is. All of you men and women in your 40s and 50s will have to make up the loss unless you want to see granny and grandpa starve to death. AARP, which is in part funded by the federal government, naturally came out in favor of cuts for its paying members. That proves once and for all what a useless organization AARP really is. They tried to play both sides of the issue. What this really amounts to is a tax increase on those who can least afford it. What really concerns the aged is that the new tax increase is already in place. The question is will the unconstitutional illegal, “Obama Enabling Group,” increase the burden on the aged even more?

It should be noted that the elite members of the “Obama Enabling Group” are all part of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Groups. They will do as the illuminists tell them to do. Their control companies won’t share in the tax increases because they are immune and exempt. We have yet to see anyone file a lawsuit challenging the unconstitutional law that created this group of enablers. As we pointed out before this group has been bought and paid for via $64.5 million in campaign payoffs. The biggest contributors were legal firms for more than $31 million and Wall Street threw in more than $11 million. These are the people who in part, control our government - JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Bank of America. Your commentaries and votes mean very little to these people.

This is August and Europe is on vacation as the European Union and the euro zone fall apart. Mrs. Merkel and Mr. Sarkozy had a meeting that accomplished nothing. It was supposed to be a cover for all of Europe’s bureaucrats who were enjoying themselves while their union burned.

The European Central Bank, the ECB, continues to finance the insolvent euro zone participants by purchasing their bonds. The most recent recipients have been Italy and Spain. The total is now approaching some $900 billion. The bonds are virtually worthless and other members have to pay for these interventions. In addition another $500 billion has been lent to these problem countries. The EFSF, the European Financial Stability Fund, the method for loans is supposed to terminate in 15 months, so the permanent solution is supposed to be the ESM, the European Stability Mechanism, which can lend $700 billion. All these loan packages are guaranteed by euro zone members and the citizens of the remaining 11 countries. This commitment guarantees a AAA rating, which we see as dubious at best. All these commitments have forced the lenders in the case of Greece to now demand collateral on just about everything the Greek government owns. We have said from the beginning Greece should just default but that is not what the bankers and other solvent nations want. They want to own the country and enslave its inhabitants. At the same time many of the lenders are only in slightly better shape then the sovereigns they are lending too. That means the stronger members are under increased pressure, as their credit ratings and finances are pushed to the limit. In addition a number of nations not within the euro zone, such as England and Norway have no intention of getting involved in the ESM. There is absolutely no question that the euro zone cannot survive under these circumstances.

We still believe the euro zone doesn’t fully understand their problem. It was 1-1/2 years ago we predicted that the bill would total $4 trillion. A few months ago we raised that to $4 to $6 trillion, as Germany raided their estimate from $1 to $3.5 trillion and the EU support mechanism raided their estimate to $2.8 trillion. The bottom line is none of the estimates are payable, but the desire for world government is so great that the Illuminists are wiling to destroy the system to accomplish that. Finance ministers call for greater commitments, but where will the funds come from? Sooner or later these one-worlders are going to discover that if they keep pushing, the system it will crash and burn.

In addition to the sovereign problems European banks are exposed for $700 billion in just the debt of Greece, Ireland and Portugal. If Spain, Italy and Belgium are included the exposure grows to $2.8 trillion and that is just the bank exposure. Thus sovereign and bank exposure is $7 to $8 trillion. These kinds of numbers make you realize that all of Europe is broke and all the banks are going to go bankrupt as well as the countries, including Germany. We often wonder whether the European condition wasn’t a Anglo-American trap. We will see in time. Perhaps the one interest rate fits all was the trap, as we believed it was from the beginning. This one interest rate supposedly eliminated risk, when in fact as you can see it heightened risk. The euro could not eliminate that risk, because the six nations over lent and over expanded. No one cared about debt repayment because supposedly the euro protected everyone from that, and as we have found out the euro and sovereign commitment was not adequate protection. Quite frankly Germany was with its AAA rating, and financial success was supposed to carry everyone. It has now been proven they cannot and the German people are shouting we have had enough of this. It has to be stopped now. We will take our losses, dump the euro and return to our beloved Deutsche Mark.

If debt is restructured at today’s recognized level for the problem countries, even a 50% default would wipe all 17 countries except Germany. 1-1/2 years ago Greece made a 50% default offer to Germany, which rejected it. If they had accepted it these nations could have been dealt with over a long period of time avoiding a euro collapse, but they were not smart enough to envision such a solution, because they really didn’t grasp the enormity of the problem and where it would take them. They understand now but it is too late. If you think the foregoing is overwhelming all those structured securities called CDS and MBS, bonds containing mortgages. They were holding $2 trillion worth and they are probably still holding them. They are carried at par and are worth at best $0.30 on the dollar. Banks do not have sufficient capital to cover these losses and we do not believe the public in Europe will cover these bank losses. Even the IMF says the banks have not recognized these losses. Bank stress tests are a joke, pabulum for the masses. Italy has 30 problem banks, but they lent conservatively, have high levels of deposits and very small leverage. If they are in trouble you can imagine what the banks in the other countries look like. How can governments recapitalize banks when the governments are broke? In the case of Greece a 50% write off would cost the ECB, the 17-euro zone country citizens, $70 billion, plus what banks and others are holding. The sovereigns are buried just as the banks are. The ECB has paid in capital of $7.4 billion. Euro zone central banks have $1.4 trillion in capital. How can anyone believe they can fund losses of $7 trillion? Talk about contagion. The word should be catastrophe.

As we have often said, the problem and debt has only been extended. All the debt is unpayable. Interest rates and bond yields of troubled nations are such that debt cannot be repaid. How can anyone have confidence in a broken system? Unsustainable is the operative word. There is no political courage to end all this because all of the key figures and many others are controlled by the Illuminists, who want world government. They will hold out until the system has collapsed, and hope they can save themselves. That is why people worldwide have to prepare for what is coming. Europe’s financial collapse will be the catalyst that will cause all other nations to fall. That is why it is so very important that all of your investable assets be invested in gold and silver, coins, bullion and shares.

Markets on edge for key Bernanke speech


WASHINGTON (AFP) - The last time Ben Bernanke communicated to the public, the US stock market jumped, then plunged, and then soared, all over a few minutes -- no one was sure if his statement boded good or bad for the economy.

So when the US Federal Reserve chairman speaks at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Friday, after weeks of extreme market turbulence, hopes are that he will deliver some clarity both on the economy's state and whether the Fed will give it a new boost.

With growth in a near-stall, and vulnerable to turbulence imported from troubled Europe, investors want a clear signal that the US central bank chief is ready to act to prevent a return to recession.


"The best thing he can do on Friday is to project a sense of confidence: 'Yes we know what is needed, yes we will do it if it is necessary,'" said Nariman Behravesh, chief economist at IHS Global Insight.

The landscape for Friday's speech, at the annual Federal Reserve summit at the western mountain resort, is eerily like last year's: the economy seemed to be stagnating, markets were losing faith in the recovery, and the government seemed unequipped to counter it.

At Jackson Hole on August 27, 2010, Bernanke boldly signaled the Fed's $600 billion QE2 program -- QE for "quantitative easing" -- in which the central bank injected liquidity into the economy by buying up US Treasury bonds.

That sparked optimism for the economy and a nine-month stockmarket bull run that only expired in June when a new fog of economic malaise moved in.

Markets have now dropped back to where they stood last October; fears are rising of a new recession; and budget politics have left the government even more unable to act to stimulate the economy.

But, two months after QE2 ended, analysts see Bernanke as having less potent tools for the job, and unlikely to do more than suggest what the Fed can do.

"The dilemma that that the Fed faces is that there are not a lot of choices here," Behravesh told AFP.
"Fiscal policy is not really in the mix... I don't think the Fed likes it, and the Fed would rather not be in this situation, but it is."

The speech has traders in disparate markets on the edge of their seats.

"We are seeing a lot of trepidation ahead of the Federal Reserve speech on Friday," said oil trade expert Matt Smith of Summit Energy.

"The market does not want to do anything strategically until we see what he has to say on Friday morning," Ray Attrill, a BNP Paribas currencies specialist, said.

The last time Bernanke "spoke" to the public was in a statement after the August 9 meeting of the Fed's policy board.

Warning of rising "downside risks" to the economy, the Fed promised ultra-low interest rates for two more years.

But otherwise, it only said that they were weighing what tools they had to deal with slower-than-expected growth.

Because that came after a bruising political battle that left the White House and Congress with almost no room to help the economy, and as sovereign debt worries mounted in Europe, the Fed statement had little real positive impact.

It "signaled to investors that the Fed's outlook was sufficiently glum to make it hold its policy rate at zero for that long, reinforcing their sense of angst," said Vincent Reinhart, an American Enterprise Institute scholar and a former Fed official.

Since then, too, a number of economists have revised downward their economic forecasts, to growth of less than two percent for the second half after what could have been below one percent in the first half.
Few think Bernanke will signal a formal QE3 on Friday, but many think he will make clear the Fed will inject money as in QE2 if it sees the need.

Moreover, said Behravesh, he could signal that the Fed will move to drive down long term interest rates, in the same way that short-term rates have fallen to near-zero.

That could stimulate everything from corporate investment to consumer buying of homes and automobiles, he said.

"The Fed could potentially tip the balance in terms of people being more willing to make those bets, those big investments," he said.

Needless to say, all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds as far as the West is concerned. No one is disbanding the Libyan army and no one is officially debarring the Gaddafi-ites from a future role in their country. No one is going to make the same mistakes we made in Iraq. And no boots are on the ground. No walled-off, sealed-in Green Zone Western zombies are trying to run the future Libya. "It's up to the Libyans," has become the joyful refrain of every State Department/ Foreign Office/Quai d'Orsay factotum. Nothing to do with us!

But, of course, the massive presence of Western diplomats, oil-mogul representatives, highly paid Western mercenaries and shady British and French servicemen – all pretending to be "advisers" rather than participants – is the Benghazi Green Zone. There may (yet) be no walls around them but they are, in effect, governing Libya through the various Libyan heroes and scallywags who have set themselves up as local political masters. We can overlook the latters' murder of their own commanding officer – for some reason, no one mentions the name of Abdul Fatah Younes any more, though he was liquidated in Benghazi only a month ago – but they can only survive by clinging to our Western umbilicals.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke called the nation’s unemployment situation a “national crisis” during the Q&A after a speech Wednesday night in Cleveland.

“We’ve had close to 10 percent unemployment now for a number of years and, of the people who are unemployed, about 45 percent have been unemployed for six months or more. This is unheard of,” he said.

But economists are breathing a brief sigh of relief this morning after the Labor Department announced jobless claims were 391,000 for the week ending Sept. 24. The Commerce Department also revised its second-quarter GDP figure slightly upward.

It was the first time since the beginning of August that claims were less than 400,000, a threshold that economists say indicates an especially unhealthy labor sector.

Today’s announced figure is a decrease of 37,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 428,000.

Guy LeBas, chief fixed income strategist with Janney Capital Markets, said today’s claims figure was “significant.”

“It’s one marker of fewer layoffs but the problem is it’s not the matter of layoffs but the level of hiring,” he said.

LeBas said there are no layoffs but still no hiring.

“That relationship has gone sideways,” he said. ”Individuals with jobs are in a more stable position but individuals without employment are still having trouble finding jobs. It’s not a common situation.”

The Commerce Department this morning revised its second quarter estimate of GDP for the third time, saying it increased at an annual rate of 1.3 percent, instead of the previously thought 1 percent announced last month.

In the first quarter, real GDP increased 0.4 percent.

LeBas said the GDP figure was “moderately positive news,” but backward looking and therefore not significant to the markets this morning.

LeBas said the higher than previously stated GDP figure might refute those who believe the country is already in a recession, depending on how you define a recession.

“If you define a recession as high joblessness and ability to get jobs, then we are already in a recession. If you define recession as two quarters of negative growth, then no, we’re not in one,” he said. “I would argue that the distinction is useful for economists, but not useful for the average person.”
