Approaching Nihilism from mind/body perspectives we can differentiate the attitude of Nihilism as mind rejecting body as its source, defining it as the mind's construct, a tool that can be adjusted, rather than the naturalistic perspective which considers mind as a product of body, brain the tool that can be adjusted confined within the limits of body.
Body as immutable, determined past made present.

From this inversion the entirety of Nihilistic psychosis emerges as a inherently self-hating, lying to itself to survive in contradiction to its own principles.
Mind dies without the body whereas body, as in many species, in not required for the body to survive, albeit at a degraded state.
Modern institutes towards appearance, and how you cannot "judge a book by its cover", ironically using a human construct to justify the rejection of body as an artificial book-covering that could take any form imaginable.

Nihilism's Jewish conundrum, to be homeless, intruding into strangers homes to find shelter - to be lost in the deserts of the mind, where desperation seeks salvation from its earthly woes.
There's a reason why Nihilism's tenets urge an "openness": open borders, non-judgmental acceptance, universal love, non-discriminating unconsciousness.
He thrives in cities with the doors wide open.
Jew finds his preferable environment in urbanity - there where nature could be forgotten within the protection of human artifices.

Pagan shifts from hunter-gatherers to farmers, and makes a claim on space/time.
A hearth as the center of his being - a visible representation of his continuum.
With this act he declares himself present, easy to find.
The Nihilist Jew refuses to reveal himself, hiding within multiplicity where his usury can escape by immersing itself in the confusions of pretentious coexistence, and techniques/technologies.

In the wild man differentiated himself from the other creatures of this earth.
He preyed upon them, his appearance a clear identification of his past.
For the Jew, humanity is his field of predation. He masks himself as anything to mingle with those he never feels a part of.
The psychosis must have developed slowly. one expulsion following another, until it became their shared identity - a noetic one, that could be hidden within phenomenon, or a mental identification hiding in a body he considered a tool, a hindrance, the source of his suffering.
A disease he would then attempt to infect others with, as his act of vengeance.
To speak of a "self hating Jew" is to distinguish the ones who refuse to project their self-hatred outward - ones that own their Jewish identity.

Heidegger connects this Jewish psychosis as being detaching from Being.

Modernity & Family

Modern attitudes concerning family correspond to Nihilistic attitudes towards nature – how could they not?
This modern tradition of abandoning family to "make your own way" is a flight from past/nature, and the immersion of a still undeveloped self in human constructs, social artifices, to collect and fabricate a new identity.
Highly impressionable ordeal.
The romantic idealism of the "overcoming" of genes, through memes.
In nature versus nurture, nature as the sum of all past nurturing is promised a release through proper training, imitation, pretenses.
Our job becomes our new family, buying us new and improved traditions, like yearly vacations and shopping sprees.
Jesus took his followers away from their families, only to subjugate them to the Divine Father – uni-versal family, which Marx changed into the State, institutionalized family.
Modernity individualizes it as: family is anything you want it to be.
Modern promise of salvation from the "wrongs" inflicted upon you before your birth – primordial sin and all.
A correcting of natural selection with surgery, medicine, fashion, enforced rules of conduct – no bullying allowed.
Moderns can't wait to escape themselves, by leaving home, running from their past, as if they are not their past made present; to make their "dreams come true", or die trying.
They remain unsatisfied because the shadow follows, and only disappears in the dark. Nightlife, with its own electric lighting, and inebriated senses, is where the Modern thrives as caricature.
Out there, in the bump and grind, they sample and choose a new character to play. If they are hard workers they can purchase the means to make it as believable as possible – envy of the pack.
Friends substitute for what they want to forget, and forgive, with yearly visits; education substitutes for understanding; imitation substitutes for essence.
A self-fulfilling belief – Modernity makes appearances superficial.
One is almost convinced that with a few years of proper grooming, centuries of natural selection are gone, as if they never happened – hypocritical nurture wins out over nature that cannot lie – body never lies, body never forgets.
Institutions are venues of collecting similar mind-sets, merging them in shared identifiers – willfully orphaned peers.
Their energies directed properly; their self-destructiveness converted to ambitious productivity.
Passion of the lost desperate to find an oasis in the desert, unleashed on the shifting hot sands where nobody can stand still for long – burn!
You snooze, you lose.

Father is not overcome – child flees from him crying “You are a fascist bully!!! I hate you!!”, influenced by a description of “love that knows not masculine toughness” – a motherly love for children destined never to mature…. never to overcome mother.
Psychological sympathy with the parent of the opposite sex, casting the same-sex parent in the role of antagonist, the forever idol of shame and secret source of inspiration.
What the child hates is his inheritance and the limits it forces upon him/her.
It shapes their relationship to the State, to power – their “adult” politics.
This decides their later choice of mates, and high divorce rates.
Mostly it explains the increasing numbers of unmarried women and men, still waiting for the “perfect one” – like the mother and father they left behind, or never had.
Each lives-out his fantasy, best he can – success measured by how convincing the act became, supported with money buying symbolic reinforcers, and yes-men, playing along, for their reward.

Like enduring the sleepy insights of someone who thinks he has something to teach, circling around your shadow with a small candle, trying to pinpoint your position in its flickering dance.

To openly speak of things not to be spoken of, is considered to be in bad taste by those who have no use for speeches,
They will dismiss your impoliteness, explaining it as being the product of anxiety.

In this way, any talk of race, triggers the fear of difference response, and any talk of homosexuality will be responded to with an accusation of homophobia.
The accuser accusing the speaker of his own feelings when the words were spoken.
An attempt to redirect anxiety and claim that the words were not unusual, having been heard before.
To prove it, a lesson on the spoken will follow, full of well-meaning insinuations, and implications of an overcoming, indirectly assuming that to speak of them means to be trapped by them.
The teacher will pretend he knew and knew it deeper.....so much so that he refused to bring it to the surface, because of his good manners.

In the jungle the trembling soul walks with confidence, as if prepared for any contingency, confident that it can survive anything that might emerge from the thick brush.
Any sound, big or small, any smell, it pretends to ignore, wanting to convey the image of certainty.
To comment would mean it had taken notice, and to take notice is to imply one was surprised.

One only takes note of the unexpected, what concerns and was not prepared for....otherwise one remains silent, humming a song, as if completely indifferent.
Such are the ways of the masters.

For the common man, preparedness does not erase anxiety, and experience does not make the tension decrease.
What it does is it invigorates him, until he stands there trembling, with a knowing smile on his face, because each experience is affirmed by the previous one, as if it had prepared him for the next.
What does subside, with every repetition, is surprise.

I know other, and do not hate nor love him.

He is neither friend nor enemy, and neither am I to him, until some factor, like a common goal, enters the scene.
It is in relation to this objective that I am good or bad, for him, as he is for me.

Variability
There's no predicting how the mood will strike, like a cobra.
One does not hate snakes, one does not feel animosity towards them, but is always weary around them.
At first all snakes are a source of anxiety, but as age adds to knowledge and experience, one learns to separate the dangerous ones from the harmless.

Repeated contact with cobras settles anxiety to natural variations having little to do with the snake itself, though the snake cannot tell the difference. Sometimes indifferent, sometimes anxious, sometimes aggressive, sometimes loving towards the same animal.

Awareness of varieties in what seems uniform, reducing anxiety then results in variations of attitudes towards specific variants as one gains confidence and develops more than one method of dealing with the same type.

Munch, bunch, digest, convert the honeyed virus into its pure form - a drop of pure dis-ease, with none of the sugar-coated fake goodness.
Poison as profound insight, for buttercups, and sugar-babies.

Feeding on lies, a insatiable appetite for stripping of its cover - irresistible urge, born in a time of softness, now made into an obsession.
Compulsion to-order, to re-veal...to ex-pose.

Simplicity Complicated, Complexity Simplified
In times of great stress, such as the conditions Nihilism produces by disconnecting the mind from the world, which for many is a sacrifice they are more than willing to make, desperation breaks down the boundaries of skepticism, and fantasy begins to bleed into reality.
In such times the simple becomes complex, and the complex is simplified, so that, as is often typical with this mental dis-ease, all is inverted.
Hemorrhaging indicates a wound, a loss of vitality.
An organism bleeding-out, in its final throws, is overtaken by a sense of intoxicated relief. Everything around it soiled by its own own blood, as if it were being reborn, encompassed by a universal placenta.
From trauma, to a catatonic state, before one falls into a coma it cannot awake from - final thoughts in the head ones of peaceful expansion, a falling out into oblivion.

Jesus took a simple concept, like 'love' and mystified it, imbued it with all sorts of nonsense, and then sold this to the masses of desperate, lost 'victims' of man's variation of natural selection.
Given an enemy to accuse for their predicaments, their human condition, made them a distinct group, rivaling all former identifiers.

Incomprehensibility rather than being a reason to dismiss became another reason to attack all that victimized them.

It is far easier to exploit emotion than it is to use reason to convince.
Using emotion does not require the other to be particularly intelligent, in fact the simpler he is the better, nor particularly self-aware, or literate.
Christianity used 'love' as its emotional grounding in human automatic animalism.
They mystified what was, on its own, a mystifying experience.
Emotion rising from somewhere mysterious, its spontaneity, could not be predicted.
It rose up, from inside the individual himself, as if it came from some external source.
To this day people speak of love as if it were something magical, and not another survival mechanism, evolved to facilitate heterosexual reproduction and then social cooperation.
An emotion converted into a mysterious force of nature, underlying everything. Projected as more than an organic process.
The entire universe became a manifestation of Divine love.
But that lie soon ended.
It could not justify itself within a world that showed such clear evidence of indifference, and downright hostility. The faithful could no longer be convinced to blame themselves, to feel guilty, for failing to live up to the ideal's expectations, to love all, as they do themselves.
There was too much hate to explain away, and shame just could not manage it among more literate folks.
Is this the end to that Christian "bridge" trying to connect, to synthesize two contradictory psychological dispositions towards world, such as realism and nihilism, or Hellenism and Judaism, in the west?
Hardly.
Wherever there are fools there are charlatans out to exploit their foolishness.
Will it be love again, or will some other "positive" emotion be manipulated into paying the role of irrational connector of mind/body?
Certain buffoons have recently attempted to use self-preservation, the automatic reactivity of organic life, as its new emotion, its new connector.
Self-preservation raised to the level of universal force, in a generation of lost, men-children unable to think beyond me-me subjectivity.
An updated version of that old story.
Will it work?
Well, unlike Jesus' time where messiahs were as numerous as philosophers, this world is characterized by information overload.
The Christian methodology, repackaged and renamed, will have minimal effect, determined by its range of verbal marketing, and it will have to combat the plague of ADD, and cynicism.
Television and computers have trained minds to jump from focus to focus, not investing more than what is required to get a quick pleasure fix, before they seek a more intense experience.
Cynicism will prevent any seriousness, often masking an inability to think beyond a certain level – the subjectivity trap.
But some followers will be found among recovering Christians, who found Marxism too banal, and not less constraining than Christian dogmatism.
Residual effect of centuries of Abrahamic brainwashing will supply these reinventions with a steady stream of new converts, but for how long?
Technological advancement has sped up the cycles of memetic ascent and decline.
Recycling gives way to newer packaging of the absence of content. If not for some hook, like drug use, cults will emerge and fade, returning its worshipers back into the cesspool they were fished out of.

Christianity spread within growing urban populations of desperate, hopeless, victims of natural selection, solidified as social status.
Its irrational message of hope came as a welcome relief from reason; its magical mysticism addictive to those who found no hope in reality; its esoteric promise a godsend against exoteric indifference.
Marxism built upon the same foundations.

In our time of globalization, and its feminizing effects, it is to be expected that an updated variation would emerge from the deconstructed framework of the past.
Jesus was no Christian.
As a half-breed he was the ideal revolutionary questioning the Amrahamic establishment, finding validation in Pagan psychological disposition.
Then again, we can't call Marx a Communist either.
Theory falters when applied in real conditions.
Its mythologies swept away by worldly tornadoes. It remains "perfect" in the hearts and minds of those desperate to escape the coming storms.
Modernity is the newest upgrade of these ancient psychological manipulators - population control for this age.
Globalization has produces masses of lost, disenfranchised, emasculated pseudo males (men-children), well fed, well-dressed, educated and completely empty.
Abrahamism exploited physical hunger with a large helping of mental mush.
Marxism exploited loss of power with a dose of mind-numbing belonging.
In our post-Christian age, with god already pronounced dead, and with superfluity to contain any rebelliousness, what still remains are the masses of boys, unable to easily submit, like girls can, to power.
Products of mixed marriages, broken homes denying them father figures that could maintain a connection to a past they could draw confidence from, a sense of identity, they roam the urban landscapes as once Christian hid in the catacombs – on the surface present, but their souls hiding in the underworld, the sewer systems every city must have to rid itself of its refuse.
Globalization has to rid itself of the last resistance in the father figure. For the institution to completely dominate, no competing alternative could be tolerated.
Like Christianity, the father had to become a mere representation of the one and only masculine power.
Cosmopolitanism was a method of dealing with heterogeneous populations, where the male no longer shared blood with the leader.
Instead of a Hellenic openness to alien cultures, selectively assimilating components to integrate into itself, this Abrahamic cosmopolitanism was about diluting self within multiplicity – losing order in chaos so as to surrender to a shared compromise.
The male had to be reduced to nothing more than a surrogate female.
Jesus takes his disciples away from their families, converting them to sons of another father.
Marxism eradicates God, and natural identifiers, essentially detaching its followers from all past/nature preceding the emergence of the State.
With no shared blood a Christian "male" served as a representative of an idealized, abstracted maleness, and the good Communist "father' would raise good workers for the State.
Here we are, now, in a post-Christian, post-Cold War era.
The old names will no longer work as triggers.
The intellectual conflicts have associated the words with specific emotions, images, feelings.
Christianity still lingers, and Marxism reinvents itself using new labels: humanism, liberalism, transhumanism etc.
When Christianity perishes, in time, what alternative spirituality will take its place?
What it had exploited in minds is not gone. It is, in fact, with the decline of Abrhamism that minds desperately seek a delusion to replace it.
Some think a new alchemy must integrate the ones who lead the way to its demise – a new Christianity, using new names, integrating, as Christianity attempted to do unsuccessfully, its anathema. A merging of oil and water, where the inability of combining the two can be hidden with food colouring.
This new Christianity will retain its soothing promises, its threat and comfort, but it will update itself to selectively incorporate the elements that brought its first attempt down.
Christianity upgraded for a modern man, because woman has no issues with accepting new masculine domination - they easily adapt to shifts in internal power.
This new Christianity will direct itself towards the increasing numbers of disenfranchised, lost males. Products of generations of nihilism, seeking identity, meaning, power, a sense of self among the ruins; seeking new father-figures, to go through ancient rites of passage with updates symbolism, and rituals.
Our Modern city catacombs are full of hidden men-children, pretending to be adult.
Lost souls self-medicating, finding relief in communion with others as lost as they are, and looking for a new alternative to cope with an indifferent world, to spiritually descend the social status ladder into new hierarchies.
With no blood to draw sustenance from, they transfuse themselves with abstractions.
With no genes to guide them, their mixed up pasts, seeks new combinations in ideological constructs, in theories with no references outside their shared subjectivity.
They are satisfied with the validation of psychosomatic effects, the placebo, all reinforce with anecdotal statements of shared convictions – echo chambers reflecting back what was emitted, as if it came from some mysterious external source.
Abrahamic God might have been pronounced dead, but as long as there remains the need, that human weakness, he will be resurrected continuously.
Sometimes as anthropomorphic Being, others times as pure idea, appearing as word - personal conviction, verbal confirmation delivered with passion, sufficing to produce the same effects.

Perpetual Correctness
The advantage of remaining confusing, unclear, insinuating without clarifying, is that you can claim to be correct constantly.
A method used by the oracles of Delphi, then adopted by Biblical narrators, and also used by such notable as Nostradamus, and such mythologies as astrologers.

To be precise is to limit possibilities. It is an attempt at order.
Vagueness, allows the actor to remain flexible, before unforeseen circumstances.
He can always claim to not have meant it in the way he was interested, of being constantly misunderstood by those that contradict him or are skeptical concerning his declarations.
To be clear would force him into a position he might be cornered by.
Ambiguity retains plausible deniabilty. The accuser accused of the weakness in your own positions - an inversion of defensiveness into an attack.
What is being declared valid forever uncertain, always evading contradiction by shifting itself from rationality to irrationality, and then back again.
Vagueness can pretend to be deeper than it actually is. More profound, more grounded, when being clear would expose it as nothing more than mysticism, emotionally founded.

Like abstract art, the "artist" need not have any talent. His work need not have meaning.
The observer is challenged to appreciate it, to find the deep meanings in it, or risk ridicule.
It's all about marketing and allying yourself with those selling bullshyte as gold to line their empty souls.
Such a pretentious artist relies on human insecurity. His bravado intimidating the fragile spirits inot submission. They will find the value in the work, or pretend to see it.
The "artist" will play along, accepting the effort as an indication of submission.
Clarity would expose him as shallow, bereft of all substance - his work reflecting him perfectly.

Confusion used to imply a secret order, a hidden message.
The world will constantly validate the pseudo-intellectual, because his predictions occur after-the-fact. His ambiguities lending themselves to any outcome.    
He will then convince the observer that he intended what he had no clue about.
His artistry consisting in producing something so fascinatingly obtuse, and then to sell it as the next trend.
He can do no wrong because he has no clue, he takes no solid position. He dances around symbols, dropping names, alluding to meanings, allowing himself the possibility of later denying them, new circumstances forcing him to adopt new implications.

Only in the mind can the contradictions be synthesized as abstractions.
Only in the human mind can the synthetic term free-will find mystical meaning.
Only in the desperate human spirit can the concept of a loving vindictive God make sense.
Only in the feeble human mind can the apparent be denied, as illusion, and the illusion promoted as a deeper truth.  

Fluidity of (inter)activity making mind/body a tenuous unity, one easily resolved....but not for the charlatan who wants to exploit it for his own reasons.
For him the mind takes precedence because there anything goes, all is possible, time/space do not limit imagination.
Modern prefer world to be a personal interpretations equal to any other, permitting him to create his own reality.
Using words precisely would be counter-productive.
Words ought to be used as indications, insinuation - easily altered later on - recombined, reformed, redefined. To connect them to phenomena would inhibit creativity, or escapism in a fluctuating world the mind is clueless about.
Certainty of uncertainty, producing the sense of knowing.
Weakness made into a strength.
Ignorance hiding behind fake gnosis.  
You can never be exposed, or proven wrong, because you never actually say anything - you allude to something, allowing the listened to fill in the gaps - when threatened you can deny the others understanding so as to allude to the validity of your own ignorance.
You can never be proven wrong because you never, actually, say anything about the world. You allude to it, use the word "world", refer and defer to minds that spoke of the world, but you only imply, speaking about subjectivity, pretending you can encompass them all with your flexible insinuations.

Then you make scouting forays, daring to clarify....only to rush back into your methodology when a threat risks your exposure.
Because when you speak clearly, when you risk it, your words are shallow, empty of substance, common regurgitated recycled garbage.
The attempt to associate them with greatness fails when you dare to speak honestly.
Best to remain ambiguous - your implied genius permitting the feeble minded to worship you.

We've had 'love' being used as a mystifying cloud to synthesize the contradicting, the rational and the irrational, the life-affirming, and the life-negating.

We've seen its outcomes, its outcrops, its necessary lies, its pretenses. The symptoms have been analyzed to diagnose the dis-ease.

But this dis-ease is a Hydra.
By its very nature it is pure noumenon, unrestricted by any real world conditions - a memetic virus, that does not have to abide by natural order.
It thrives on human frailty, on human vanity, cowardice, stupidity.
It is multifarious and ever-changing, continuously absorbing its last adversary into its inverting virility, it reinvents itself.

No that 'love' is done what alternate emotion will be exploited, or will the virus simply use a different word for the same one top repackage itself?
Perhaps self-preservation can be mystified and projected as a universal force, with a slight modification in wording to make it feel more profound, more original?
Perhaps hedonism, pleasure, can be the next all-levelling religious upsurge of Abrahamic nihilism.

Whatever new head the hydra grows it must be faced by a new hero.
Heraculean labours never end.
Where there be health, it will be surrounded by dis-ease.
Where there be bravery, it will be surrounded by cowardice.
Where there be genius, it will be surrounded by idiocy.
Where there be strength, it will be surrounded by weakness.

Value and Value-Judgments

Value is a word indicating a relationship.
The relationship is between an observer and the observed, therefore it only has meaning in relation to living organisms within world.
In it most basic form it is an organism evaluating an otherness in relation to its needs.

Humans, having the ability to go beyond the third level of cognition, can evaluate a behavior, a choice, in relation to a projected objective, an abstract ideal.
In other words he can extricate his own needs from the process and compare an action to an ideal.

This ability can produce the value represented by money, or the value of numerical measurements representing the phenomenon's activity measure against an abstract, immutable standard.
This is how we can measure temperature, or speed.

Value only has meaning in relation to a motive, a goal, an objective.
Value is not an intrinsic part of a pattern.
A phenomenon lacks value, but only in relation to a motive, such as measuring its activity, its energy, relative to the observer, or some standardized abstraction.
A stone has no value. It is pattern, or a congruity of patterns that may be measured by an external consciousness that first differentiates it from the background, from its pile of stones it is among.
A stone is given value either in relationship to this standard, ideal, usually mathematical, or in relation to a goal, such as building a house.
Similarly, a stone has no name unless there's a consciousness present to give it a standardized noetic model, such as language a symbol, a word associated with its pattern.
Stone, the term, is not a intrinsic aspect of its existence.
Similarly speed-of-light has a speed.
The value we give to this activity we call velocity, which is nothing more than its pattern, is based on human standards, which are, in turn, founded on human metabolic rates.
It can be 299792458 metres per second or it can be 186,282 mi/s.
The numbers are not an intrinsic part of light. The value they represent is a representation of its behavior, its pattern (inter)acting. In this case in a vacuum where interaction is minimal to the point of being inconsequential relative to human lifespans, and speeds of awareness.

The type of pattern determines its (inter)activity, therefore it determines how an organism such as man using light as a medium will perceive - interpret the phenomenon.
if the medium is not light, not visual, but acoustic then it is how atmosphere, the patterns we know as gases, (inter)act with a given phenomenon, and then the eardrum.
We give sound value according to this interpretation of (inter)activity, based on our organic limitations. We give it a tonal value, we interpret it as noise or as ordered noise we call melody, or music.
Sound is vibration which is another way of saying pattern.
Light is also vibration, energy - the fastest pattern man can process, making it a metaphor for human awareness, the extent of man's perceptual-event-horizon.
Sound has no value in and of itself. It is given value, either as a way of categorizing it, or in relation to the organisms needs. A particular sound may mean dinner, or a coming threat.
Sound is simply patterns (inter)acting.
Man gives sound value in order to categorize it, to know it and then to understand it.
Sound resonates, in other words it (inter)acts via the medium of atmosphere with an organism.
It has a psychosomatic effect.

Roots of Philosophy
Need is where philosophy springs out of.
Need as the experience of existence - the endless (inter)activity of a congruity of patterns, organized into organic hierarchies, (inter)acting with each other, and with the world outside their congruity, their relationship of attraction/repulsion.

Why? asks the mind, about its own needs, seeking an answer externally, when the answer is in itself, and how this self relates to otherness.
For the base mind, there is no going beyond the need.
It stops there, sometimes feeling humbled by the lack that brings it about, and sometimes feeling proud, when this same lack has successfully accumulated excess, requiring expenditure, relief, a different, kind of need, one of overflowing, of power, one Moderns are more accustomed to, because of their sheltered existence and the superfluity of resources they have become accustomed to.
For them overflowing comes easy, and they begin to believe it is because of their quality, that all this excess energy, easily acquired, is due to their personal talents.
Then, it becomes a competition over who can accumulate and expunge more excess, more luxuries, more superfluity, more nonsensical word combinations, more self-handicapping displays.
It becomes a game of impressing, and such games involve players cultivating image. Players who are destroyed when their impression is not appreciated as they intended it.

For a philosopher, interested in seeing the world as it is, a mistake may cause some shame, but it does not trigger emotional responses, because any correction to an error made, leads to growth.
Not so for a modern, a nihilist, who only has words, and how these words affect others, to build his self-esteem upon.
For such a creature any shameful correction is a loss of image. A loss that eventually becomes reputation, nobody can forget. Not even the most obtuse, cannot fail to remember multiple mistakes, and the consequent loss of face.
When image is the motive, the loss is devastating. It must be corrected, the past reinterpreted, as Nihilists have done with history through the ages.

In time one learns to the stand away when formidable forces, such as landslides, floods and human passions are at work.
Outcomes become predictable, if one experiences enough of them, particularly the outcome of trying to stop, or change, or resist, what is part of cosmic interactivity.
Learning from the easterners to exploit momentum, if one wishes to gain something out of the inevitable, a man may apply force, with subtle movements, and then stand aside when the impact comes and all settles back down to more manageable states, hoping his contributions were enough to result in a pleasing arrangement.

Cause and effect, are how humans recognize what precedes from what follows, then evaluated as cost/benefit, relating to intent and desire.
Consequence, whether known and acknowledged, or not, is the inescapable objective world of fluctuating relationships imposing itself upon the aspirations and predictions of subjective consciousness.
An after-the-fact appreciation can only determine how much, and how many, of the costs/benefits will repeatedly impose themselves upon a life.
As such, patterns persist, sometimes predictably and in some rare instances with slight modifications that make all the difference.

If you must pay another person to walk your dog then it’s time to adjust your priorities.
You, either, have to reduce your work hours, or you have to get rid of your dog.
There’s an imbalance there being dealt with by outsourcing.
Excess of money, or excess emotion not being gratified by a pet serving as a surrogate for something else.

The Spartan is  embarrassed, and turns the conversation on to the restraints imposed upon drunkenness at Sparta. When in due course  the Athenian comes back to sexual legislation in detail (cf. p. 165) he says (836b):

In many other respects Crete as a whole and Sparta give us a good deal of solid support in our attempt to make laws differing from the way most things are, but in the matter of eros-we're by ourselves (sc. and can therefore speak in confidence)-they are completely opposed to us.

It must be said at once that Plato was not a historian either by trade or by temperament,  and  even  if  he intended to imply  that homosexuality began in Crete and Sparta and spread thence over the Greek world, we are not obliged to respect his authority; neither he nor any other Greek of the classical period was in a strong position to discover how a social usage was diffused two  or three centuries earlier. Three things to take note of in this segment.

1- The average Greek's 'real' attitude towards homosexuality, and in particular buggery, to dispel Modern myths about it, attention to ridicule and reduce what is above them to something they can relate to, or feel superior to.
An attitude many westerners cannot relate to, but is still present in Greece and in the Mediterranean basin, where being penetrated is shameful whereas penetrating, somehow, makes you less of a homosexual.
The act taking its symbolic status of domination, or how the superior asserts itself upon the inferior, what evolved into a relationship between a mature male accepting a boy, yet to be a full male, us his student, a eromenos - relationship of agape that did not necessaruly develop into anything physical, but in certain historical periods may have, due to decadence spreading practices among the well-off.

2- The dominance of Dorians, and how despite being perceived as brutes, held a esteemed position among the Greeks. Acropolis itself, built using Dorian style is an attestation of it, as is Plato's and many other notable Athenians admiration for the Spartans, and now we can add to it this, the practice of pederstheia, as a byproduct of Dorian militancy.

Although The ancient Greeks come to us through the Athenians, primarily because of their verbosity, but also because of how Platonism was alter integrated into Modernity by selectively combining it with Abrahamic spirituality of Nihilism, now secularized as Modern, at the time it was the Dorian that held a dominance over the hearts and minds of the Greeks - their imagination seduced by Doric practices and attitudes.
Not only was Athenian Democracy a submission to necessity, but it was also a harbinger of its decline.
Hellenism which we defer to and claim to admire, was totalitarian, by Modern standards.
Plato a fascist, who would be called today a Nazi. His ideals point to natural totalitarianism, natural order imposing itself no feeble human desires.  
A fact later exploited by Abrahamic Messiahs, leading to our present understanding of Hellenism as the Athenian kind, the Ionian type, also cleansed of its dyspeptic, for us Moderns, elements. Our misunderstanding resulting in a glorification of our own modern Nihilism as a continuance of that culture, as America is now considered a continuance of Rome, in its glory, and not an echo of a fragmented Rome, into a holy roman Empire and a Byzantium east, waiting to be conquered by the hoards from Asia, submitting to Christianity as a last effort to save itself from calamity.


3- Further support that homosexuality is a byproduct of natural imbalances, in this case caused by the intervention of social rules, motivated to produce a cohesive fighting unity in defence of the City.
Human intervention creating an artificial situation of deficiency - absence of females, or no access to sexual gratification, forcing the adoption of alternatives.
A related phenomenon would be imprisonment.  
In Modern times this 'imbalance' might be hormonal, inherited as a disposition, or socially imposed due to social attitudes, and ideal idealizing promiscuity, hedonism, and sexual dysfunction as an exploration of body and its possible hidden potentials.
In this the modern can feel kinship among the Greeks of certain periods, when successes resulted in periods of affluence, or of access to energies that had to be expunged, and periods of peace and prosperity where such relief was only possible through entertainment and play.    


The Spartan's embarrassment, when hearing the words of the Athenian, corresponds to documented attitudes to the idea of males desiring, finding pleasure, in being used as females.
The Athenian expresses the average Hellenes attitude toward homosexual practices, describing them as "unnatural".
We can fill in the absence of definitions, with out own differentiation of 'natural' from 'artificial', as an indication of willful intervention, to a degree where the consequences of these intervention effect the actor more than the circumstances (environment), intervened upon.  
The natural method of reproducing species can only be corrupted due to mitigating circumstances, such as, in the wild, an absence of females, due to disease, or predation, such as a display of dominance within a social unity that does not exclude competing males, such as play/practice, for maturity, or as a means of dispelling energies and/or reinforcing social hierarchies, and such as in the case of Sparta as a byproduct of human interventions which impose rules separating for long periods of time males form females.

We an only wonder how Moderns mange to deal with their fragmented, self-contradicting positions.

When their metaphysics do not harmonize with their positions on physics, how do they then expect their morals, and their ideals to make sense, and how do they expect to formulate a way of living within the world when their interpretations of the world are so compartmentalized and schizophrenic?

The short answer is they apply different standards to different circumstances, directed by an emotional need, or pure self-interest pretending to be selfless, and by a denied arrogance pretending to be humility.

What, other than hubris, can you call a position that claims the universe cares for its well-being, that then evolves to a position that makes it knowable?
From belonging to God, to becoming A god.

My entire thesis is not arbitrary.
I must harmonize my metaphysics not with my desires, but with physics, as these appear to me, or are told to me by those who study patterns in the cosmos.
My ideals are not based on what is pleasing to me, but are derived from this cohesion of metaphysics and physics, beginning with the simple act of sensual awareness, tested over time - empiricism.
All contradictions I explain as a product of an error, and make sure I correct it before I proceed to the next issue.

This I call Bottom<>Up thinking.
Starting with no more than how my brain perceives and interpret, my own consciousness, I proceed upwards from ignorance towards increasing gnosis, knowing this will never be completed.
My outward exploration is accompanied by an inward exploration, as the body/mind must be integrated into a cohesive unity, imperfect and forever incomplete.

This has lead me to the awareness that consciousness is fundamentally imperfect, because it is the extension of a physical organism, dependent on order in a disordering cosmos.
The next stage in the evolution of cognition is reached when the mind realizes that its own conceptions contradict the real, because they are absolutes attempting to represent the fluctuating.
As an artist realizes that his art is insufficient to fully grasp, and hold the real, he developed techniques to allude to the real, capturing its dynamism in rock, or on canvas, or, more appropriately, by using music, the kind of all art forms.

To say that someone is cerebral, or intellectual, is to describe an organism dominated by its nervous system, and its central hub, the brain.
The descriptions presupposes a sophisticated brain as collector and director of energies.
Energies can accumulate in the form of stress, libidinal, or abstractions (memory, ideas).

Energies are collected internally, from the body, or externally, from the world.
The former are stored as energies on standby, to be directed to the fight/flight mechanism, or converted to libidinal energies, in the form of ovum/sperm, or on standby, similar to the previous, for the purpose of copulation (procreation) – the sexual impulse – or they may be collected from external sources as stimulation, converted to abstractions, or maintained in the raw form as sensation, triggering emotions, feelings.
These energies come from the digestive system.
The high energy demands of the brain make the nervous system, in higher life-forms, an organ dedicated to managing excess, whereas in lower life-forms it is completely dedicated to dealing with lack.

A 'truth' cannot be absolute, if it is defined as a perspective.
It can be superior or inferior, therefore any 'truth' that proposes an absolute is burdens with providing absolute evidence...so as to avoid the mistake of assuming an /absent absolute' by having to prove an absolute negative.
As such anyone beginning with the assumption of an absolute, should be considered insane, until he provides evidence of what only exits in his brain as a idea, an ambiguous abstraction with no reference to anything outside if it.

This is how you avoid the linguistic paradox of negating an absurdity by accepting it as a premises, as it is obvious in the phrase 'there is absolutely no absolute' and 'truth is there is no truth' where truth implied absolute certainty, or a subjectivity that is absolute.
The only reason one lowers one self to the level of such morons, is because they are a majority, with political power.

Cost/Benefit can be expressed differently as negative/positive, or bad/good, in relation to an idea(l), a goal, where the self can be considered the all, encompassing and corrupting most popular one.
Negative/Positive retaining its theoretical, and bad/good its ambiguous relativity nuances.

Cost/Benefit with its own economic pragmatic implications, places the self as the living gauge of all theoretical, ambiguous nuances.
The 'self' as representation of the idea(l), the desired goal, becomes the organic recipient of the theory's ambiguity.
Cost/Benefit the perceptible consequences of what remains a hypothesis, a subjective interpretation, beyond emotional and unemotional criteria, exposing the individual's commitment and performance, in relation to the objective, but also the objectives real qualities, as these impact the individual, the natural agency relating to it, as undeniable costs & benefits, accumulating over time/space.

Upon the body of the individual, costs/benefits become perceptible, and obvious, measuring not only his approach towards the particular goal, but also the real-world effect of the goal itself, beyond all theoretical noetic conceptualizations.

When a dis-ease is accurately diagnosed witch-doctors come out of the woodwork wanting to claim it as their own, offering supernatural redefinition of the original prognosis, and then providing the pharmakon, often involving such concoctions as bat wing bones, elephant tusk powder, mixed with pixie dust, boiled in a silver cauldron on the night of the spring solstice, then to be meditated upon for no more and no less than 88 minutes, following a precise ritual of inhales and exhales.

Success has many parents, failure is an orphan.

With the female it is the first one that penetrated them, physically, and mentally if she be more intellectually inclined.
All her subsequent experiences with men, and woman, are compared to that first intrusion into her essence, breaking through her inherited nature as a thrilling, intimidating alien entity.
Such a shock may not result in heights of ecstasy, because its strangeness, and the fear it brings, does not permit the abandonment to it, as would be required for the heights to be attained, but if such abandonment is possible the accompanying orgasm solidifies and accentuates the event as seminal, as life-changing, consciousness expanding.
All that follow are compared to it.
Woman never forgets her first.
All pale in comparison, when memory cleanses the experience of all negativity, leaving only a pristine moment in time, multiplying, inflating, the actual event with emotion, and nostalgia.

There is no limit to what the poetic spirit can invent with the manipulation of words freed from their worldly relationships.
It can cast his enemies to the pits of hell, build empires with a sentence, accuse non-living matter of possessing a soul with a motive, and that the simplest interaction of force can be named eros, alluding to an organic essence.
Repeating Spinoza, he will come up with new words to describe what that old secular Jew already proclaimed: that all is Deus, and Deus is all.

Will we not forgive the wandering chosen-ones their desire to return to their ancient ways, wanting to take root in the soil they once uprooted themselves from, losing themselves in the deserts, where they reinvented themselves at the feet of the Sphinx, as the eternal victims.
Once their power grew they could reaffirm what they had denounced, and emerge as pagan Semites, ready to synthesize their brief sojourn on the sands of time, with the hearth they had to leave behind to liberate themselves from the soil they were slaves upon.

How many sheep have been led astray, and taken to their slaughter convinced they were being freed, by the twist of a literary phrase and the inspiring triggers of a seductive metaphor.
Bible is full of them, but we can see it in Nietzsche appeal to the romantic emotional boy and, more rarely, girl, or in the seduction of Hellenic poetic philosophy convincing Moderns raised to think in impoverished languages that the literati speaks literally.

Sensitive, lost souls cower before an indifferent cosmos, hungry for some care.
An artist's warm embrace feeds their emaciation with symbols, warm and vague enough to touch their emotions.
What was meant to appeal to the mind's conventions, a manner of speaking and expressing the intangible, the mysterious, is turned into an audiences emotional thrill.

Spinoza tells us about how Biblical metaphor, reflecting idiomatic practices, have been misunderstood by moderns, more often wilfully.
But we know of many such cases besides the artistic musing of a Nietzsche who has become the last-man's erotic embrace.
We can recall Heraclitus and his own metaphor, fire, burning in the imagination of those who understood it with no artistic imagination.

Did the Greeks not speak of philosophical matters using poetry?
We should not wonder, because the Moderns Greeks also have this flare for hyperbole, simile, and insinuating linguistic artistry something that, no doubt, inspires Nietzsche in his cold Germanic austerity.
It is, often those, born and raised to speak and think using languages with less flare, less style, that have come to misinterpret the truths implied in prose, as truths themselves.
