Things to Watch - Page 10 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Things to Watch Things to Watch - Page 10 EmptyMon Mar 10, 2014 5:39 pm

When he says: "Ideas having sex", he is referring to what I call memetics, and how linguistics, and how dialogue, the dialectic is a form of memetic copulation.
Everything found in genetic reproduction can be transferred to memetic reproduction, since memes are nothing more than extensions, progressions of genetics.

Letters/Numbers (linguistic code)= DNA chromosomes.
Word/Sentence = Chromosome sequence.

From this we can understand how, and why, gender is no more than a memetic application of a genetic specialized role...and why any genetic sequencing that negates its own validity is a nihilistic one, a self-contradictory one.

Genes, like memes can only be understood by man artistically, dynamically - a symbolic rendering of a process.
When man interprets the methods he sues to understand, to categorize, the activity, represented by the lettering and numbers, he becomes immersed in his own, human abstractions.

The chromosome symbol, the one man uses to categorize each pattern, is not the chromosome itself, but a metaphor, a symbol referring not to a static thing, but to an encoded, inherited potential.
Whether this potential contained within a genome gets activated, or whether it grows to its full potential is determined by the environment, by the immediate, by nurture, as the liberals love to call it, because of the motherly connotations.
A chromosome is a frozen possibility, a potential activity.

Similarly an abstraction, a mental model, is a static action, a frozen moment in space/time.
The word is the human symbol for it.

When we use words we imply a possibility, a towards.
All words are essentially verbs, because they all indicate a movement towards, if they do not act as connectors between words, or as names used to refer to an sum of activities/patterns of activity, such as an organism.
Words usually denote a possibility, an intention.

When they are understood as static things the mind using them is simple, not artistic, dull.

When he speaks about his next book - something about specialization - he is implying the concept of synergy, and its advantages.
The same concept within a sociological context might be called specialization, in the Modern west, but it is an old idea.
In the east, amongst the Aryans, it is called Hinduism...or the caste system.

In the west specialization practices are more dynamic. A child is raised, within shared rules, given a shared basic knowledge foundation, and then tested to determine its inherited potentials, so as to be given a specific, narrowly focused job, role.
The first stage involves uniformity, erasing all inherited identifications, lingering cultural effects, so as to erase the mind, cleanse it - brain washing.
Because specialized roles within sheltering systems do not require much genetic specialization, the genetic effects are dismissed as irrelevant.
Technologies compensate for any genetic inferiority, and most jobs require no more than following recipes, seeking guidance in inherited experience, being counseled by precedent and others specialist in your field and so on.
An average intelligence suffices and is preferred because anything excessive can only become troublesome to harmonious coexistence, because challenging the norms and thinking outside the box causes internal frictions that reduce the power of synergy.

Above average minds must be integrated into the processes, directing all excess mental energies towards socially utilitarian objectives, or they must be quarantined, rehabilitated/medicated to prevent them from disrupting the whole. If all fails then they must be labeled ill, meaning not useful to the system, and exterminated.
Specialization is a method of directing superior intellects towards constructive, to the whole, directions, turning them into idiot savants: brilliant in focus, but inept in every other area of existence - making them completely dependent and dependable.
The school system contributes to this specialized focus, and if there is a chance for a universally brilliant mind to emerge it must avoid the pitfalls and indoctrinating structures of the modern education system, and be immune to the seductive forces of the socioeconomic fields.

Of course Ridley is a modern mind, wanting to make a profit, become seductive to as many minds as possible, so he sells himself as a humanist.
His arguments gloss over nuanced divergence by using the lowest common denominators, sex and the shared historical context we all live within, to imply human uniformity.
We can never know what he 'truly' thinks, but he is a master in selling an idea...mind-fucking, if we use his own conclusions, and mine, as the subtext.
He sells ideas, and since ideas using words, are what chromosomes are to genes, he is selling his own memetic prowess.
To be marketable, and not discriminating as to whom he fertilizes, he must offer ideas that feed into the lowest, most universal principles.
If he had to also sell to other primates, I suspect he would lose the "human" word, and speak about universal apes, and how we all share the same genes and, presumably because w all understand the words, also the same memetic grounding.

The last statement about lowering intelligence is interesting, no?
Tell Mo to listen.
Mixing is reducing intelligence.

Other factors to consider: sheltering....and dysgenics.
morons having more kids than more intelligent people.

Proof that within sheltering environments excess brains results in anti-survival consequences.
The brain begins to question its own actions.
Simpler minds do not do so, as much....or they double up their focus.
Hyper-masculinity, sexual hyperbole, fantasy to make the mundane and without consequences more exciting etc.

"
Give me freedom, give me fire, give me reason (yes, GIVE ME), take me higher
See the champions, take the field now, you define us, make us feel proud

In the streets our heads are lifting, as we lose our inhibition,
Celebration, it's around us, every nations, all around us

Singing forever young, singing songs underneath that sun
Let's rejoice in the beautiful game, and together at the end of the day.
We all say,

[Chorus:]
When I get older
I will be stronger ( I.e. "I will be bolder and more prone to irrational violence")
They'll call me 'Freedom' (they also call you death)
Just like a wavin' flag
And then it goes back, and then it goes back
And then it goes back, and then it goes...(to the stone age)

Born to a throne, stronger than Rome (hah, no doubt "cooler" than the Roman's too)
But violent-prone (naturally), poor people zone (hazard),

But it's my home, all I have known,
Where I got grown(so poetic, so much hard won street "feel"...), streets we would roam ( like hyenas)

Out of the darkness, I came the farthest
Among the hardest survival
Learn from these streets, it can be bleak,
Accept no defeat, surrender retreat (survival of the fittest on the most basic level, they chant)

[Bridge:]
So we strugglin'
Fightin' to eat
And we wonderin'
When we'll be free
So we patiently wait
For that fateful day (an emotional build up for an explosive emotional release)
It's not far away,
But for now we say:

[Chorus]

So many wars, settlin' scores,
Bringing us promises, leaving us poor,

I heard them say, love is the way
Love is the answer, that's what they say

But look how they treat us , make us believers ( of course you need to be taught to love)
We fight their battles, then they deceive us ( an ambiguous "us" and "they" gets the locals all in a frenzy)

Try to control us, they couldn't hold us
'Cause we just move forward like Buffalo soldiers"

Judaism is a natural outcome of space/time constraints, as these are produced by an absence of frontiers (possibilities), and of the limits of resources (absence of portability).
In the east the same psychology, the same political/social method, took on a different form: Buddhism.

In the west, with the presence of the Hellenes, reaching their civilization peak in the Roman empire, the same nihilism was shaped differently.
In modern times the Germans have become the truest representatives of Hellenic Paganism...and the few Jews that dare to speak expose the underlying psychology of the Judeo-Christian: Heisman, Weinberg, Pinker, Atzmon, Sand, Chomsky, Finkelstein...

The greatest of magicians. Enjoy mediating on deep thoughts from great elders. Think he triggered ones intellectual persuit onto novel frontiers five years ago or so.

“Stop consuming images and start producing them.”

“The imagination is the goal of history. I see culture as an effort to literally realize our collective dreams.”

“Culture is not your friend, it’s an impediment to understanding what’s going on. That’s why the words cult and culture have a direct relationship to each other. Culture is an extremely repressive cult that leads to all kinds of humiliation and degradation, and automatic, unquestioned and unthinking behaviour.”

“Ego is a structure that is erected by a neurotic individual who is a member of a neurotic culture against the facts of the matter. And culture, which we put on like an overcoat, is the collectivized consensus about what sort of neurotic behaviors are acceptable.”

“Personal empowerment means deconditioning yourself from the values and the programs of the society and putting your own values and programs in place.”

“If you’re not the hero of your own novel, then what kind of novel is it? You need to do some heavy editing.”

“Nothing lasts but nothing is lost.”

“Matter is not lacking in magic, matter is magic.”

“Life lived in the absence of the psychedelic experience is life trivialized, life denied, life enslaved to the ego.”

“Western civilization is a loaded gun pointed at the head of this planet.”

“Some kind of dialog is now going on between individual human beings and the sum total of human knowledge and nothing can stop it.”

“The shaman is not merely a sick man, or a madman; he is a sick man who has healed himself.”

“The artist’s task is to save the soul of mankind; and anything less is a dithering while Rome burns.  If artists cannot find the way, then the way cannot be found.”

“The syntactical nature of reality, the real secret of magic, is that the world is made of words. And if you know the words that the world is made of, you can make of it whatever you wish.”

“We have been to the moon, we have charted the depths of the ocean and the heart of the atom, but we have a fear of looking inward to ourselves because we sense that is where all the contradictions flow together.”

“The real tension is not between matter and spirit, or time and space, the real tension is between information and nonsense.”

“Nature is not our enemy, to be raped and conquered. Nature is ourselves, to be cherished and explored.”

“People are so alienated from their own soul that when they meet their soul they think it comes from another star system.”
