I used to think that all this money printing will soon create such a big disturbance that the financial economy collapses but I think that's not going to happen, I think they are much too powerful and in control that if they want to they can keep it going "indefinitely".
But that doesn't mean that it has no destructive effect on society. It's like rewarding people who fail at what they do by transferring resources and prestige from other people who accomplished something. That does have a negative effect on motivation and productivity but that's a long-term effect. In the short- or medium-term it might actually make people work more when you take things away from them because they want to gain them back and work even harder to achieve that. |

| They began with raising interest rates to punish the election of Trump. Now they're desperately lowering interest rates and printing money? A way to stymie collapse. People have lost faith in the institutions - they're going to devalue the currency of the average person through easing, to stymie buying power and any destabilizing animosity. It provides incentive to stay in 'capital acquisition' mode. They didn't anticipate such a viral panic, by idiotic third world hoards (they imported) obviously. Their last resort is open violence/suppression.
Quantitative easing is the major player in that - higher interest rates are what protect savings; but also institutions. The average idiot - but not so idiot - business owner sees the potential for capital acquisition as an opportunity to.. acquire capital. Relying on ingenuity and passion to have it happen. |
