You see here a parody of inductive reasoning in valid deductive logical form, but perfectly unsound and ridiculous. Through this line of reasoning, none of the conclusions necessarily follow, but they are logically possible.. it could very well be the case that witches are made of the same stuff that other stuff called wood is made of, and that something only burns if it is made out of wood. Ergo, a witch is made out of wood because a witch can burn.
This skit is hilarious.. it caricatures the kind of clumsy reasoning practiced by philosophers, theologians and logicians of that era.
What do you do with witches? Burn them.
And what do you burn apart from witches? Wood.
So why do witches burn?
Cuz their made of wood?
So how do we tell if she is made of wood?
Building a bridge out of her would not be conclusive, because bridges can also be made out of stone. Ah!
Does wood sink in water? No, it floats.
What also floats in water?
A duck!
Exxxxxxactly.
So logically, if she weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood, and therefore....
The guy doesn't even go to a work, has status updates on several countries, has been in Sweden, Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark, going to gym in various countries, staying at hotels for long times...Where does he get all his cash for travelling and eating is a mystery.
So I says to Tony, this is my fourth visit to Turkey in 3 years, and every time they ax me the same question; "10 camels for your beautiful wife?" And every time I tell em fagettabout it. If she's that fucking beautiful, why are they trying to sell her back to me?
This always makes me laugh, but its not a parody. I remeber OhFortunae commenting " This is what it means to be alive! " or something like that and getting +40 up votes to his comment.
